You were sitting in your favorite teacher's classroom, quietly finishing your work while everyone was working with partners. You see Miss Richards shoot you a few glances across the room but once you make eye contact, she looks away. Your pencil hadn't even moved all class. You couldn't even bring yourself to do work. You place your head down on your desk out of tiredness. You close your eyes for just a few minutes until you hear Miss Richard's sweet voice behind you.

"y/n sweetheart?" You pick your head up and look at her with tired eyes. "Hey is everything okay?"

"Oh yeah. I'm sorry I didn't mean to put my head down.-"

"No it's okay, I get it. If you're tired you can go to the nurse if you'd like?"

"No I'm alright. Thanks Miss Richards." You said with a fake smile. She nods and places a hand on your shoulder before going back to her desk. Once she did, the bell rang and you put your things into your bag. You were about to be the last one out the door but Miss Richards voice interrupted you.

"y/n, could you stay behind for a minute?" She says, organizing papers.

You slowly turn back around and walk to her desk nervously.

"Am I in trouble...?"

"No of course not. Just take a seat." She says, motioning her hand to the chair across from her.
You sit down in a chair across from her desk and she finally placed the papers down, folding her hands. "So. What's up?" She asks. You furrow your eyebrows in confusion.

"....I don't know. You asked me here..."

Ally's face suddenly seemed disappointed. You two had been so close last year and she helped you through so much. You even went out for coffee together in the summer. She always saw you like her own daughter and now you were being so distant.

"y/n."

"Yes?"

"I'm worried about you."

"What? Why?"

"Because you're showing all your old behaviors of last year. You're almost falling asleep in class, being distant and your grades are dropping again. And y/n I don't want you to be upset or yell or try to leave but... I saw some cuts on your wrist that looked pretty new."

Your heart fell to your feet.

"N- no there's not. Miss Richards, I'm fine. I have to go." You stand up to leave but she quickly catches you.

"y/n wait."

Ally gets up and grasps your arm as tears fell down your face.

"Let go of me!"

"y/n if you don't talk to me then you're talking to guidance." You stopped trying to pull away from her and she stared at you with her piercing brown eyes. "Now come sit down. Please." You finally pull your arm away from Ally and sit back down on the chair. You sit in silence for a few seconds until she eventually speaks. "When did this happen y/n?"

"...Couple days ago." You reply quietly, looking down at your fingers and fumbling with them.

"Why? You've come so far."

"Because I'm a screw-up Ally that's why." You say, finally making eye contact with her, tears falling down your cheeks. It was kind of a relief for Ally hearing you call her by her first name. She told you you could do that last year when no one was around.

"Sweetheart. You're not a screw up. I promise."

"Yes I am. It's all my fault. I'm so fucking worthless I have to cut myself to try and relieve my stupid problems."

"y/n breathe. It's okay. You're not worthless. Come here." You shake your head no as you put your face in your hands and Ally comes next to you, pulling you into her arms and stroking your hair. "It's alright sweet girl. I'm here.
It's okay."

"I'm so tired Ally."

"I know sweetheart. We're going to get through this together okay?" All you could do was nod as she continued to hold you in her caring arms.

"Thank you."

"Of course. I'm so sorry baby."
