_____Delilah made her way into the prison and waited for her fellow council members to gather around to discuss their situation. Delilah couldn't figure out who could do such a thing. The sickness gave her an aery feeling about everything. It could kill everyone untreated. The group tried their best getting medical supplies but only got so far. Delilah went on many runs with Shane looking for medicine and just medical supplies in general. Their runs contained a lot of messing around and sex, but they did use some time to search. They even found Herschel his crutches. From the time the Governor left and the sickness, they cleared out all the stores in their area that contained medical supplies.
Yeah Delilah took a seat as Michonne came in with Glenn behind her. She flashed them a quick smile, but it faded when she noticed Glenn was a bit pale. "You okay?" She asked, her eyebrows pushed together. Glenn nodded and took a seat next to her. Delilah knew him enough to tell it was a lie. Before she could say anything, the rest of the council members walked in taking their seat.
Herschel sat down and sighed. "It's spread. Everyone who survived the attack in cell block D. Sash, Caleb, and now others." Herschel told the council sitting around him. Delilah shook her head in despair.
"Oh, Jesus." Daryl commented.
"So, what do we do?" Carol asked Herschel. "First things first. Cell block A is isolation. We keep the sick people there like we tried with Karen and David." Herschel explained, bringing up Karen and David which made Delilah remember their bodies burnt on the floor.
"The hell we gonna do about that?" Daryl spoke up when their names were said.
"Ask Rick to look into it. Try to make a timeline--who's where when. But what are we gonna do to stop this?" Carol told them.
"There is no stopping it. You get it, you have to go through it." Herschel told them as it is.
"But it just kills you?" Michonne said, dumbfounded.
"The illness doesn't, the symptoms do. We need antibiotics." Herschel says, knowing everything around is cleared.
"Shane and I have been to all the pharmacies nearby. I know Daryl has been to a few around as well." Delilah chimed in, leaning in on the conversation.
"That veterinary college at West Peachtree Tech, That's one place people may not have thought to raid for medication. The drugs for animals there are the same we need." Herschel says, giving them an idea. Delilah tried to pinpoint where that is considering how many times she's looked at a map around the area o find places to raid.
"That's fifty miles. Too big a risk before. Ain't now. I'm gonna take a group out." Daryl got up out of his chair fast. "Best not waste any more time."
"I'm in." Michonne steps up. Herschel turned around to look at her.
"You haven't been exposed. Daryl has. You get in a car with him..." Herschel interfered.
"He's already given me fleas." Michonne joked making everyone in the room laugh.
"I feel you." Delilah says smiling.
"I can lead the way. I know where everything's kept." Herschel says hobbling up from his chair, grabbing his crutches.
"When we're out there, it's always the same. Sooner or later we run." Daryl gave him a warning.
"I can draw you a map. There are other precautions I feel we should take." Herschel said before letting Daryl go.
"Like what?" Carol asked, curiously.
"There's no telling how long it'll be before Daryl and his group return. Wouldn't it make sense for us to separate the most vulnerable? We can use the administration building. Separate office, separate room." Herschel shared his idea.
"Who is the most vulnerable?" Glenn asks. Delilah thought about Judy. She's already basically in isolation but she agrees that there needs to be more.
"The very young." Herschel said avoiding one topic. Him.
"What about the old?" Glenn said, worried about his father in law. Herschel avoided his remark and sent Daryl off to gather a group and prepare for their journey. Delilah would have offered to go with them but she knew she needed to be here for Shane and the others.
Delilah followed Daryl and Michonne out of the room to help them pack up everything. Daryl started working on the only good car they got left. All the young children and the old get transferred down in the empty administration room. Delilah helps Daryl work on the car while Michonne gets ready. Bob and Tyreese decide to tag along with them. Shane comes out to help them, bringing empty duffle bags for them to bring with them.
Delilah welcomes him with a hug. "How was that council meeting?" Shane asks Daryl, with Delilah in his arms.
"Just trynna figure everything out ya know?" Daryl shrugs and Shane passes him the duffle bags. Daryl give him a nod for his gesture, taking the bags and putting them in the back of their car.
"Let me know if you need anything. I mainly just work with the walkers at the fences and i could do for some more work." Shane offered with a smile. "Thanks. We're all good right now." Daryl said, closing the trunk. The small group hopped into the car and Delilah watched as they drove away.
Shane squeezed Delilah's shoulder reassuring her. "They'll be okay." He said, kissing her forehead. The hardest part would be the wait. Waiting for them to come back knowing how far away they are. Knowing there's a chance they won't come back crushes Delilah's heart. What if they come back and everyone is dead because they left too late? What if the sickness catches Delilah and kills her without saying goodbye? Delilah's mind bloomed with worries and possibilities. Shane's job was to distract her of that.
