The next day the group went separate ways and tried to adjust. Shane went off to explore with Rick leaving Delilah to herself. She took a stroll after fixing a cup of coffee in the morning. She missed her morning coffee. She spotted her brother lounging on one of the porches, cleaning his crossbow.
"Don't you think it's time for a shower, brother?" Delilah scrunched her nose examining Daryl. She crept up the stairs and leaned against the pole across from him. He shrugged and continued to fiddle with his weapon.
"You guys seem comfortable." Daryl commented referencing her and Shane. He lifted his eyes to look at her and gave her a double take.
"What? This is what clean looks like. Something you obviously don't know exists." She teased at her brothers action. The door opened beside them revealing Carol in a collared shirt with a blue cardigan.
Delilah held back a laugh while Daryl gave he an even worse double take. "Time to punch the clock and make the casseroles." Carol joked, adjusting her cardigan and posing. "What?" She looked at the Dixons expressions.
"Make dinner for the older people--moms who need a break, people who can't cook. Get to meet a lot of the neighbors that way." Carol explained her role. Delilah slowly nodded. "Great." She praised.
"Glad to know someone likes the idea." Carol winked at Delilah making Daryl scoff. "Have you taken a shower yet?" Carol squinted at Daryl, examining his filth. The Dixon nodded making both of the girls shake their head.
"Take a shower. I'm gonna wash that vest. We need to keep up appearances, even you." Carol told him before walking down the stairs.
"I'm not starting yet." Daryl answered making Delilah roll her eyes.
"I'm going to hose you down in your sleep." Carol joked before walking off making Delilah laugh.
"You look ridiculous." Daryl hollered back at her.
"I think it fits her." Delila shrugged making Daryl stare at her lankly and chuckle.
"I saw that look on your face too." He joked and she laughed before walking off.
"Please shower. Or I will be helping Carol in your sleep." She smiled jokingly before waving him goodbye.
She continued her stroll until commotion towards the gates alarmed her. She picked up the pace and jogged to the gate. Glenn was arguing with one of Deanna's people. "You tied up walkers." Glenn stated turning towards Aiden. "He killed our friend," Aiden raised his voice louder. "Look we are not having this conversation. You obey my orders out there."
More people started crowding around them Shane, Rick and Michonne stood close, watching the action. "Then we're just as screwed as your last run crew." Glenn snapped. Aiden got closer to him, "Say that again."
Tara tried to get Aiden to back off but he ignored her. Aiden pushed Glenn back while Noah and Tara tried and calm them down. Deanna approached them and immediately asked what was going on.
"This guy has a problem with the way we do things. Why'd you let these people in?" Aiden asked his mother. "Because we actually know what we're doing out there." Glenn growled making Aiden swing at him. Glenn ducked down and punched Aiden in the nose.
Nicholas tried to get on top of Glenn but Daryl got on top of him and started chocking him. Rick jumps in with Delilah and stopped him and Michonne and Shane took care of Aiden. Nickolas started coughing and got behind Deanna.
"I want everyone to hear me okay? Rick and his group are part of this community now in all ways as equals. Understood?" Deanna announced to the big group around them. She turned to her son and Nicholas. "All of you turn in your weapons. Then you two come talk to me." She pointed at them. Delilah scolded Daryl before he walked off. She stood next to Maggie and Glenn while Deanna talked to Rick, Shane, and Michonne about the argument.

Delilah was outside on Rick's porch with Daryl smoking a cigarette. Rick walked out in a cop like uniform. Delilah furrowed her brows and looked the Grimes up and down. "We good?" He asked Daryl. Daryl nodded and took a hit of his cigarette. "You a cop now?" Daryl asked, examining his outfit.
"Yeah, I guess I would try it in for sizing." Rick shrugged while Carol walked in. "We staying?" She asked him.
"Yeah, and I guess we can start staying in our own houses. Settle in." Rick looked inside the window of his house everyone was staying in. "If we get comfortable here and let our guard down this place is gonna make us weak." She told them. Delilah nodded in agreement.
"Carl said that. But it's not gonna happen. We won't get weak. It's not in us anymore. We'll make it work. And if they can't make it...then we'll just take this place." Rick sighed. They finished their conversation about a few plans about stealing guns and the whole place in general.
Delilah haven't seen Shane all day since the incident She figured he would be at the house since Rick told them they could stay in their own houses.
Delilah walked up the stairs of their house and slowly opened the door. The downstairs was dark and empty. She looked around aimlessly trying to find Shane. She made it upstairs and found him sitting on their bed. The sudden sight of him just sitting on the edge of the bed made her jump. "Hey. You scared me, I couldn't find you." Delilah let out a sigh.
"Hey, sorry. It's been a busy day." Shane gave her a small smile. Delilah smiled and walked to their dresser, opening the first drawer she found a blue outfit folded nicely. The same one Rick was wearing that night. "Oh, Deanna gave you the job too?" Delilah smiled, picking up the uniform and flashing a smile at the Walsh.
"Yeah." He smiled. "She figured they could use some constables. Michonne too." Shane told her, more nervous than usual.
Delilah walked over to him and examined the uniform. She leaned against his knees and she looked down at him, her arms resting over his shoulders. "I think it's a great idea." She assured him. She pulled him into a hug, his arms going around her waist.
They let go when Shane grabbed her arms. He started to reach into his pocket and grabbed Delilah's hand. Delilah furrowed her brows and a small metal object landed in her palm. "What is this." She asked, opening her palm revealing a ring.
"A proposal." Shane joking stated the obvious. "Shane-" Delilah started before Shane shushed her while putting the ring on her left ring finger.
"So?" He asked with a cheeky smile on his face. Without saying anything Delilah pushed his back down on the bed. Taking off her shirt she got in position and straddled him, bending over to crash their lips together once more. They paused, their heavy breathing filled their space. "Yes." Delilah answered his proposal making him pull her back down, their lips connecting.
