After a long two hours the group found themselves in front of the CDC. They had to drop off Jim on their way. Delilah followed Daryl out of the truck and covered her face with her bandana when a foul smell hit her nose. The group approached the CDC slowly, cautiously looking around their surroundings.
"Hello, is there anyone in there? We need help. We have women, children." Rick said while looking into the cameras intently.
"I know your in there. Please!" Rick yelled louder. Shane put his hand on Ricks shoulder.
"Rick, I don't think anyone's here." Shane said, softly.
Everyone started to walk towards the cars in disappointment. The sun was going down and walkers were getting alerted by Rick's yelling.
"The camera moved!" Rick said quickly, alarming everyone to a stop.
Everyone was trying to convince Rick to leave. He wouldn't stop. He was basically throwing a fit in front of the CDC.
"Let us in I know you're in there I saw the camera!" Rick yelled while banging on the door. Delilah looked back at Rick. Then everyone turned around when the sound of the doors opening sounded their ears. A bright light shined in their eyes.
The group piled inside the building, weapons on alert. Rick called out for someone while Daryl and Delilah helped close the doors. When someone made their presents known everyone aimed their weapon at the man aiming a gun at them.
"Anybody infected?" The man shouted.
"One of our group was. He didn't make it." Rick referred to Jim.
"Why are you here? What do you want?" He asked.
"A chance." Rick said.
"That's asking an awful lot these days." The man said, slowing coming around the corner.
"I know." Rick said, looking at the man intently for help. Delilah watched as the mans eyes scanned everyone in the group.
"You all submit o a blood test. That's the price of admission." The man explained.
"We can do that." Rick says, lowering his weapon with everyone else.
"You got stuff to bring in, you do it now. Once this door closes, it stays closed." The man said, also lowering his weapon. The group grabbed their things and rushed back inside and quickly closed the doors behind them.
The man leads them through a hall and talks to a machine named Vi. The main entrance gets sealed. The mans name was Dr Edwin Jenner. The group all introduced their selves.
Dr Jenner leads them into an elevator. They were all cramped tight inside the small space.
"Doctors always go around packing heat like that?" Daryl asks about the gun.
