When the sword hit Herschel's neck Shane followed everyone else's lead. He let his bullets go, taking down a few of the Governor's people. The tank started to move through the fences. Shane put a hand on his girlfriends shoulder to lead her away. The two of them turned backwards, hands not leaving each other. The tank let loose a bomb into the wall behind them knocking them down.
Shane got up in the smoke, blindly wandering further away. The smoke made it impossible to see. The couple lost each other immediately in the smoke going separate ways. Shane changed his clip and shot down two people running after him. Bombs went off, shaking the ground beneath him making him stumble.
The Walsh quickly hid behind a piece of scrap metal that was originally made for this occasion. Bullets bounced off his cover, the clanging rang through his ears. Shane peeked out and shot down the men. He propped his gun up and shot down anything he saw. The longer he spent the more silent it became.
Shane took a deep breath and stood up out of his cover, pointing his gun in both directions. When he knew he was clear he started walking around. He turned the corner and saw the abandoned tank with smoke coming out the top. The tank overlooked the prison field. Shane looked off into the distance. Walkers were flooding the field and there were no signs of anyone.
Shane took a handgun off of a dead body and put it in the back of his pants before wandering off, abandoning the prison. The place he once called home, they all called home. The Walsh disappeared into the trees, no trace behind him.

She scrambled away and slowly got up, picking up her weapon. She swung it down on the walkers head. She picked it up and kept swinging, blood flying everywhere.
