Y/N was still pinching himself every hour or so. He could not believe he was actually at Loch Ness. The first day they had arrived late, nearly four pm by the time they had driven up from London so the four of them just settled in mostly. They were staying Loch side, in a magnificent old hotel in the small village of Dores.

Monica and Wendell had a room and Hermione and Y/N were sharing with two singles. Wendell pulled Y/N aside and spoke to him about sharing with his daughter. Y/N was expecting a harsh 'dad talk'. He was surprised, happily, when Wendell smiled and said:

"My daughter cares for you a lot Y/N. I'm trusting you. Don't let me down."

Y/N nodded and said to Wendell:

"I would never do anything to disrespect or use Hermione, sir. I will always respect and honour her."

Wendell smiled. He thought back to himself at Y/N's age. He and Hermione were so much more mature than Wendell had been. Hermione had always been that way, and he had heard a lot of what Y/N had endured. He had to mature early. Wendell nodded and smiled again, saying:

"I know you will son. I know you will"

After settling in for an hour, the four of them went down for dinner to the hotel's restaurant.

Monica and Wendell were very surprised when Y/N ordered Haggis with neeps and tatties for dinner. Monica said shocked to Y/N:

"You know what haggis is made of, don't you?"

Y/N chuckled as Hermione looked at him slightly concerned. She had heard of Haggis, but only in a disparaging manner. She squeezed Y/N's hand under the table as he smiled at Monica:

"Of course, a sheep's lungs, liver and heart wrapped in it's stomach. It's delicious. I frequently eat offal."

The Grangers were shocked, Wendell asking:

"Why? I thought your diet was mostly steak and eggs."

Hermione kicked her dad under the table, worried Y/N would think they had been talking about him negatively. She was relieved when Y/N smiled.

"It is when I'm at school or preparing my meals Wendell. But with my wilderness training I would hunt my own food, or starve. Deers, rabbits, birds, other animals, if I had to take a life I would always use all parts of the animal. The Cen-"

Y/N stopped himself, realising his muggle surroundings.

"My friends in the forest near school taught me that."

Wendell and Monica nodded, remembering what Hermione had told them. Hermione squeezed even tighter as Y/N smiled, leant over and kissed her on the cheek, whispering:

"It's ok. It's all to protect you."

Hermione blushed happily as Monica smiled.
