Diana felt better emotionally as she turned off the water, but physically she was more drained then before. Just as she was about to hit the button for a nurse there was a knock on the door. "Diana, it's Doctor Warren, do you need any help?"

"Yes please," She admitted weakly. He came in as she was wrapping a towel around her. "You must think I'm pathetic."

"Absolutely not," Doc Warren said as he helped keep her steady back to the room. "You have been through a lot," he handed her the brand new pajamas, "I would be worried if you weren't so exhausted both physically and mentally. Just promise me one thing, okay?" She looked at him confused. "If you start to get dark thoughts, I want you to come see immediately. They aren't true and I don't want you to start believing them. Okay?"

"Yes Sir," She nodded and he smiled.

"Great," He opened the pajamas for her. "Now I will step out so you can get dressed. I will come back in about fifteen minutes with some medicine that will help you get some more sleep."

"Thank you Doctor Warren," she said and he left the room.

"How is she?" Jason asked curiously after Doctor Warren shut the door behind him.

"She is coping," Doc Warren said honestly. "She is exhausted and needs some sleep."

"We will go stay with her," John nodded as they pushed up off the wall.

"You will give her fifteen minutes, she is changing," Doc Warren pointed a finger at them. "If you step one foot into that room before I get back with her medicine I will kick you out of the hospital."

They nodded and went back to leaning against the wall. Diana got dressed and got back into bed. She kept running her fingers over the fleece pajamas, it felt soft on her skin. She looked around and smiled when she saw two books on the table that wasn't there when she got in the shower. She picked one up and smiled when she saw it was the complete collection of Edgar Allen Poe's works.

"Told you she would like it," John smiled as they walked into the room.

She looked up and smiled softly, "Thank you."

"You're very welcome Mi Amor," Gabriel smiled as Doc Warren checked her pulse and blood pressure.

"Alright Diana, here is your pain medication and this will also help you sleep," he said handing her a couple pills. She looked down at them and frowned.

"Um I don't know if I can take these," She whispered. "My throat hurts too much, I'm sorry."

"Don't be sorry," Doc Warren shook his head, "I'll have to reinsert your IV then so you can get the medicines you need." She nodded and held her arm out. "Sorry your veins are too messed up on your arms right now, I will have to use the ones on the top of your hand."

"Oh okay," She nodded.

"Hey Sweetheart," John said walking over to her. "Can I brush your hair so it doesn't get tangled?"

"Yes Sir," she whispered as she looked down at the book.

"Can I read to you while the doc inserts your IV?" Jason asked and she bit her lip. "Please?"

"Okay," she nodded softly.

"Scoot forward, Sweetheart," John said softly as he moved behind her. She moved forward and he sat behind her. He took the brush from Jason and started gently brushing her hair.

"It was many and many a year ago," Jason said after opening the book, "In a kingdom by the sea..."

By the time he was done reading the poem, Doc Warren had inserted the IV and she hadn't realized it.

"Isn't that your favorite poem Mi Amor?" Gabriel asked and she nodded. "I can see why, it's lovely."

"Someone is getting sleepy," John smiled as she tried to cover a yawn. "Go to sleep Sweetheart, we will be here when you wake up."

"Don't want to sleep," She shook her head.

"We will protect you even in your dreams," John leant forward and whispered in her ear. He smirked at the shiver that went through her body. "Sleep Sweetheart."

"Yes Sir," She mumbled as she leaned back into his chest. Gabe took the brush from his hand and covered her up as John wrapped his arms around her and she drifted off to sleep. "Safe," she mumbled in her sleep as she clutched his arms.

"Yes Luv," Jason smiled softly, "you are safe with us, right where you belong."
