Chapter 27

"We know Henry," Jason shook his head, "We never would have thought Ethan would do something like this. We knew he liked you but damn."

"Doc is calling," John said as he answered his phone, "Doc."

"Where the fuck are you?" Doc shouted.

"We just figured out who it was," Gabriel said trying to remain calm. "We also found out what he used to poison Diana."

"What the fuck was it?" Doc asked shocked. "Who was it?"

"Ethan used rat poison," Henry sighed, "He thought she was taking me away from him."

"What the fuck?" Doc sighed, "Anyway, get your asses here after you deal with him, now I know what I can do to counteract it, I have to go."

"I'll deal with him," Henry sighed, "and clean all this up."

"The rest of the team will deal with him and wrap him up for us to give to Poseidon later," Jason shook his head. "Let's go see how Diana is doing."

"I didn't know he felt that way, I swear," Henry shook his head, "I told him I didn't want anything serious, I just wanted a casual relationship and he seemed to be okay with it but I guess I was wrong."

"I would say so," John shook his head, "but don't worry about it. He knew who he was working for so he knew the consequences if he ever betrayed us. I'm just sorry you got pulled into it."

"I'll be okay," Henry shook his head, "I had no feelings for him other than sexual. I just don't understand how he thought killing Boss Lady would pull you apart and have me turn to him. If anything happened to her you would tear the world apart together seeking vengeance and I would be right by your side."

"Obsession can sometimes drive people crazy," Gabriel muttered as they pulled into the hospital.

"How is she Doc?" John asked as Doc Warren came out of her room to meet them.

"She's sleeping," he sighed. "I got her stable, but her throat was burned from the poison. Thankfully she didn't ingest a lot of it and then threw up most of it. She will need to be on soft foods and liquids for a bit to give her throat a better chance to heal. I can go ahead and tell you this will set her back on the progress she has been making. On top of that she is still battling having the flu so she is very weak and susceptible to catching something else, her immune system and mental health is shot to hell right now Boys. You got some work ahead of you on getting her back to feeling safe with you."

"Ok Doc," Jason nodded. "Can we see her?"

"Just look," Doc nodded, "She needs to sleep as much as possible to help in her recovery right now."

They nodded and quietly entered her room. She looked so tiny and weak in the bed and it pissed them off severely. They looked at one another and knew they had the same thoughts, how could they not notice someone so close to them wanting to do this to them and to her? One by one they held her hand and gently kissed her forehead then left the room.

John turned to Henry, "Do not leave her room, no one but Doc sees her."

"Yes Boss," Henry nodded then hesitated.

"What?" Jason asked.

"You still trust me with her?" He asked unsurely.

Gabriel sighed and shook his head, "We know you would die for her, hell you almost did. We know Ethan deceived you and us and you got her justice. We also know you are gay so you only have loyalty for her, we trust you with our Queen Henry. Now we have to go interrogate the rest of the security team, right now you and Doc are the only ones we trust with her."

"Thank you Boss," Henry nodded then entered her room.

"Come on," John said, "we got a gift to give to Poseidon then a team to investigate."

Just as they stepped out of the hospital a black SUV stopped in front of them. "Boss," Noah said as he stepped out with two other men.

"Noah," Jason sighed, "Is this something important? We have had one hell of a day."

"How is the Queen?" Noah asked. "Word through the grapevine is that she was poisoned."

"How the fuck do you already know?" Gabriel asked curiously.

"There was someone working with Ethan," John growled.

Noah nodded, "The moment I heard I sent my men out to investigate. We've got two down in my dungeon now but they are still searching."

"Keep it up," Jason nodded, "We've got something to do first."

"Ah, visiting the God," Noah nodded. "We'll keep searching for you."

John, Jason, and Gabriel nodded then headed to their car. They pulled up to the mansion and growled. "What the fuck is going on?" Jason yelled. Ethan was still on the floor with blood underneath him. He wasn't wrapped up like he was supposed to and the whole place was empty.

"Let's just get this over with," John shook his head. "Then we'll find the team, kill them, and start over. We have more important things to worry about right now."

"Got it," Gabriel and Jason said as they walked over to Ethan's body. Just as the three of them lifted the body there was a click and they looked at one another.

"Shit," They gasped as they dropped the body and then they felt pain, heard wood cracking, glass breaking then everything went black.
