"Hey Little One," Doc spoke smiling softly as he entered her room and closed the door behind him. He walked over and sat beside her. "Can I ask you a couple of questions to see what medicine I can give you to take some of the pain away?"

She took a deep breath and moved her body even though it burned and turned to look at him. He smiled softly and nodded, "Okay does your throat hurt from the cut?" He asked while taking out a notepad and she looked at him confused.

"What?" She croaked and he looked at her confused.

"What is the last thing you remember Diana?" He asked curiously.

She thought back, "Standing by window looking out," She said hoarsely, "Lee came in and said he had information about the bomb." She coughed and he handed her a cup of water with a straw. After a few sips she pulled back and said, "He wanted me to leave the room so wouldn't wake anyone up, we stepped out into the hall and it went dark."

"So you don't remember sending Henry texts with hints on where you were as well as sending the files to the government about Tech Co?" He asked watching her carefully.

She tried to think back and all the memories came rushing forward, "Oh god," she gasped then started dry heaving.

"It's okay Little One," He said as he held her. "It will all be okay soon."

"What happened to Lee and Diana?" She asked once she was able to stop.

Doc Warren helped her sit back up and rest against the wall so she could still look out the window. He sighed and looked at her, "Do you really want to know?" She barely nodded and he cleared his throat, "Well you didn't smash the laptop as well as you thought you did and Henry was able to get the motherboard out and install it on another laptop and gain access to all the information. Or maybe you intentionally only smashed the screen and barely damaged the motherboard but made it look like you did. Anyway, Henry was able to gain information and with the pictures that were left at the warehouse, the guys were able to put all the pieces together and realize that it was Lee and Diana."

"Once we got there we saw them going at it and then you and her had some words and you spit blood in her face so she threatened to kill you," Jason said as he came into the room.

"Lee tried to come at us so I shot him," Gabriel said. "Then that skank tried coming over to us but we put her in her place and she tried to hurt you some more."

Diana whispered, "She had a knife to my throat and did all this because you took everything away from her father and quit seeing her."

"That's right," John nodded, "He got mad we quit seeing her and tried to blackmail us but we pointed the right people to his secret other families and his embezzlement information and well, it's not our fault he committed suicide over his downfall. Without her father's money she had nothing and blamed us for it and took it out on you, we are so sorry."

"What happened?" She asked forcing her body to not react to all the emotions that were trying to come forward. "I remember her calling Henry that despicable name and the knife on my throat and feeling the blood go down my throat but then there's a loud ringing and I don't remember anything else."

"I killed her and in doing so she cut your throat," Henry said with numerous bags in each hand, "Sorry Ma'am. I didn't think she was pressing down that hard."

"I can still talk and it's nothing compared to what they did to me," She smiled softly at him. "I know you will forever protect me to the best of your ability."

"Yes Ma'am," He nodded then took out two boxes. "Here, glad you are finally awake." She looked at him confused and he smirked, "You've been asleep for three days now."

"Oh," She whispered and looked down at the boxes. She tried to raise her arms and sighed in frustration. "I'm sorry I can't."

"It's okay," Doc Warren said taking the boxes from her. "It's your muscles still recovering from all the puncture wounds and fighting off infections. In the next couple of days they will start working properly again, I promise."

"Yeah, okay," She whispered looking at her hands. "I'm sure whatever is in the boxes is lovely, so thank you in advance."

"Would you like us to open them for you?" John asked and she barely nodded. He opened the first box and pulled out a book, "It's the complete collection of Edgar Allan Poe, tales and poems."

"Oh wow," she gasped as Jason put the book in her lap and she managed to put her hand on top of it. "Thank you," she whispered as she let a tear slip free.

"You are very welcome," Gabriel smiled softly.

"And inside this one," John said opening the small box, "is a key."

"To what?" She asked confused.

"Can I pick you up and take you somewhere?" He asked and she barely nodded.

"Let me give her this first," Doc said as he pulled a syringe out of his bag.

"No," She pouted, "please no, no more shots, please no more." She gasped willing her body to move away but it wouldn't listen, all she could do is shake. "I'll sit in the chair just no more shots."

"Shhhh," John said pulling her into his lap, dropping the box onto the floor. "You're okay Sweetheart, we are right here, you're safe." He looked at Doc with concern. "We have you, you're safe."
