"Morning Diana," Jason said the following morning as he strode into the office.
"Good morning, Mr. Williams," She said without looking up. "Your coffee is on your desk and the paperwork you requested is on the desk as well."
Jason walked into his office and shoved the paperwork to the side. He leaned back in the chair and watched as Diana worked away on the computer. After a while he sighed and opened the top folder she left on his desk.
After a couple of hours passed in comfortable silence then his ears perked up at her sweet voice, "I'm sorry but Mr. Anderson isn't in at the moment, can I take a message? Well, I'm sorry you feel that way but honestly you should have known with his reputation so you honestly have no one to blame for feeling deceived but yourself. Mr. Martinez and Mr. Williams are his best friends so I can go ahead and tell you that they will not go for you or persuade Mr. Anderson to go back to you. Just enjoy the flowers and move on. Yeah, well, you can think that of me all you want but we both know that they are not interested in me other than to help them run their business. Yeah, you keep thinking that Dearie. Alright, that's enough I'm not listening to anything else you have to say, bye bye."
"Everything okay Luv?" Diana looked up and rolled her eyes.
"One, if I have told you once then I have told you a million times, names of endearment are not prohibited in the work field so I would highly recommend yet again for you to cease that little habit you tend to let slip when we are alone Mr. Williams. I swear, I have to constantly remind Mr. Anderson and Mr. Martinez as well. You three came up with the rule so you should set an example and bide by it. Two, everything is fine, Mr. Anderson's latest conquest did not take lightly him ceasing their relationship. I suspect I will receive yet another phone call just like it in a month or less." She grabbed some paperwork from the printer and attached them to a file. "Is there anything else you need Mr. Williams? Your lunch will be arriving in ten minutes."
"I suppose not," Jason shrugged. "Thank you, Luv."
"Enough Sir," She huffed causing him to chuckle. "It is not appropriate."
He headed back to his office and smirked. Her little attitude was something else. If only she realized what she did to them but alas she remained completely oblivious, that or blatantly ignorant.
Her phone rang as he picked up another file forcing himself to get some boring work done. He would rather be doing the kind of work Gabriel and John were doing but someone had to be here at the company to keep up appearances.
"What are you doing calling this phone?" He looked up from the paperwork in interest. Her tone was completely different than her business one. He hit record on his phone, he didn't like how she was talking. "I told you to never call this phone. I know I'm not answering my phone, I'm at work. Yes, I am ignoring you on purpose. I told you I was done, that means I have every right to ignore you. You can't make me. No you can't, we are through, our relationship is through, leave me alone." She hung up the phone and took a deep breath. She typed for a couple of minutes then sighed again. She stood, straightened her dress and headed his way. He went back to looking at the papers in his hands. She knocked on his door frame, "Can I take my lunch early Sir?"
"Everything okay?" He asked curiously. "You never take lunch early Diana."
"I'm fine," She nodded. "Just getting a slight headache since I skipped breakfast this morning."
"You skipped breakfast?" He asked shocked. "Don't do it again, we'll start bringing you breakfast if once of us suspect you skip breakfast again understood?" She nodded. "Now go get something to eat and I mean it Luv, don't do it again," he commanded.
"Yes Sir," She huffed and grabbed her things then left.
He growled then picked up his phone. "Check the cameras then trace her last received call and get here now," he ordered then hung up. He leaned back in his chair and sighed in frustration. He sat back upright, placed his elbows on the table and placed his pointer fingers to his bottom lip lost in thought. Their plans just changed.
