Where were they?

She knew the place like her own pockets. Every little corner of this place was familiar to her. The smell, everything was just the way she remembered it.

And yet something made it all also seem so foreign to her. Like she didn't belong here.

The voices of the people she once called family sounded strange to her ears and yet they brought comfort to her. She was longing for that warmth that came to her whenever she heard the calming voice of mother, the deep comforting and protective sounding voice of her father.

Everything was so real, and yet also unreal like a dream, that was just there to mock her with the feeling of something she would never experience again. Some little voice inside her head constantly told her that what she was seeing here wasn't real and that she was supposed to be somewhere else.

Was this really her home? Or was it not? Could she make it her home if she just wished hard enough?

She could, yes. And she would, she would ignore the small doubt that was telling her she could not.

It was easy for Izuku to carry Y/n's body back home on his back. She weighted almost nothing due to her not eating the last weeks.

Against his neck he could feel her ragged breath hitting his skin. Her arms lazily hung at her sides, her legs hooked up under Izuku's arms. From time to time soft sniffles were heard.

The sky was still covered by a black curtain decorated with shining stars, now visible after it had stop snowing.

Izuku wanted to get back to the main part of the city as fast as possible, the red-light district being especially dangerous at night. On top of that came the cold of the first snowfall in this late November night.

As Y/n's body started to get rid of the overflowing adrenaline she started to feel the cold as well, her rattling teeth and the shivers being clear evidence for it.

Izuku picked up his speed, using OFA at 3%. Soon he was in front of his still open door, which he had left open in his hurry.

The sudden rush of warmth coming from his apartment send a shiver down his spine.

First he grabbed a pair of warm blankets, the half unconscious Y/n still on his back, and rushed to the couch. As carefully as he possibly could he dropped the woman down on the soft cushions, wrapping her up in the comfy blankets as soon she hit the pillows.

Her face was covered in drops of sweat, making Izuku worried she had caught a cold or a fever.

"Y/n, you okay? You're not feeling nauseous?" she shook her head no, slowly.

Then he crouched down, carefully, so she wouldn't get scared, he took off her shoes and socks which were cold and soaked from the snow. At least she did put on shoes before running away.

Next he got a rag, from one of his bathrooms, damped it in hot water and slowly cleaned the sweat off her face. Her skin was cold as ice.

Surprisingly she apparently found the action rather comforting as she hesitantly leaned into the wet rag that was in Izuku's hand. A few single tears dropped from her eyes down on blanket around her.

The exhaustion of her body was visible to see. How she was still conscious was a mystery to Izuku. In all honesty he felt not much different, he was on the brink of falling asleep right then and there himself.

He was oh so tired. The fear he had over the last weeks had become reality tonight, worse it could happen again if he didn't do something quick. In this moment he realized he couldn't keep going like this.
