"Nice job, Phoenix," Pyrrha said with a smile as the mercenary joined his team and hers in the stands with Cinder's team next to them. "It seems you've improved since we last fought."
"What can I say?" Phoenix asked with a grin as he sat down next to Weiss. "I've picked up a few tricks over the past few years."
Mercury snorted. "That's not even the half of it. Last I checked, I've never seen you do a fire attack like that before."
"I have to agree with Mercury," Cinder added.
"What can I say?" Phoenix shrugged. "I'm called Phoenix for a reason. Speaking of..." He looked over at Jaune. "You guys ready for your fight?"
Jaune nodded. "Ready as we'll ever be."
"Good, because your fight starts in thirty seconds."
"What?!" Jaune looked up and his eyes widened at the sight of the clock counting down. "Oh no, come on!" Jumping out of his seat, Jaune raced down to the field with Pyrrha, Nora, and Ren in tow.
"You think they're gonna win?" Yang asked.
"Do you think you're hot?" Mercury answered.
"Do you think I'm hot?" Yang countered.
"Do you think you can flirt after the match?" Cinder deadpanned.
Phoenix whistled and high-fived her. "Nice burn, sis."
Cinder shot him a smile before turning, her amber eyes gleaming intently as Jaune's team walked onto the fighting arena.
"Team JNPR of Beacon versus Team BRNZ of Shade!" Port called over the speakers.
The screens popped up and began scrolling rapidly.
Eventually, the screens on Team JNPR's side dinged, a picture of a forest appearing in green highlights. On the other team's side, the screens slowed down and revealed a rocky mountain with a thundercloud above it.
"Three..." Jaune lowered his visor and got into a fighting stance, shield raised with his sword parallel to the ground as Pyrrha assumed a similar position. "Two... One... Begin!"
"Come on, guys!" Jaune shouted and led the charge.
Raising his shield, Jaune deflected a pair of saw-like chakrams from Roy.
