Chapter 37

Xanders POV

The meeting had thankfully ended an hour ago with minimal bickering. Now, we were sat playing never have I ever before we all packed up and prepared to head to the castle to finalise the approved points from the meeting.

Aries agreed to stay with me a day before heading back whereas Ricky and Dante were just going to be heading back the same day due to how long the journey was and there needing to be some sort of authority around for the pack.

"Never have I ever...have sex with a guy." Ricky smirked.

Rolling my eyes, Aries and I knocked back our lemonade, refusing to drink due to driving soon.

"Right, on that note, lets get ready to go it's a long drive and you guys will still need to head back." I stated, getting up and clearing up the glasses.

"You're no fun." Dante booed, also getting up.

Tapping his shoulder with a small laugh, I headed through to put the cups in the sink as the other three grabbed their bags.

"So, Dante and I will take one car and you and Aries can take another so we can get back." Ricky explained, picking up his backpack resting by the door.

"Sounds about right." I replied to which Dante and Aries nodded.

"In that case, let's go on a road trip kids!" Aries exclaimed before running to grab his car keys and dashing out the door.

"Least he's cheery now." I muttered, following him whilst Dante and Ricky headed to their car.

I thought we could have a fun drive and pick music, however, the second the engine came to life, I fell asleep as exhaustion flowed through me.

The distant voice of Aries called to me after a while as I felt my body being gently shaken in the process.

"Yeah." I hummed, trying to stop the shaking and screwing my eyes shut.

Thankfully, the shaking did stop before Aries' voice ran through the car.

"We're here, wake uppp." He sang, gently tapping my knee.

"Where?" I groaned completely confused at his word but also blinking my eyes open trying to function.

"The castle Xan." He replied as I groaned again.

"Ew, responsibility. Back to bed." I muttered, getting comfy again.

"This isn't even a bed." Aries laughed. "Plus, you have Ricky and Dante glaring at you from the front door."

"Fine." I huffed out still feeling tired but getting up and unfastening my seatbelt.

"That's my boy!" Aries cheered.

"That's my boy!" I mocked back, still cranky from being woken.

Opening the car door, I hopped out and closed the door behind me. The castle looked very much the same however I couldn't help but feel the pang in my heart when I glanced up at the window I previously watched Aries leave from when we closed the castle gates.

"Oh! If it isn't sleeping beauty!" Dante mocked as I approached the stairs, pulling me from my thoughts.

"Real sassy from the guy who can't even be considered a beauty." I bit back, circling round them and entering the castle. Low whistles and chuckles could be heard from Ricky and Aries as Dante scoffed.

"He's just cranky I woke him from his nap, don't take it personally." Aries explained.

Hearing them moan about me, I stuck up the middle finger over my right shoulder for the fans knowing they were following. Sniggers could be heard as I banked a right into one of the ball rooms, hearing music coming from it.

To my surprise 'slim shady' by Eminem echoed through the room causing me to furrow my brows at the explanation to this. The room was empty as I scanned my surroundings causing further confusion.

"Cause I'm slim shady yes I'm the real- Xander!" A voice hollered from my left followed by footsteps.

"Zac?" I exclaimed, dumbfounded.

"Oh great." Aries groaned.

"Buddy! I missed you! The castle is boring without you!" He ranted, finally reaching me and pulling me into a hug.

"You managed without me don't worry. Were you one of the step in kings helping to keep the kingdom afloat whilst I was gone?" I asked, confused.

"yup!" He replied, popping the 'p' proudly.

"Huh." I replied. "Thanks."

"It's all good in the hood, so who are your friends." He asked, registering the people behind me before widening his eyes.

"Oh fuck!"

"What!" I snapped at Dante, his voice annoying me after his previous sarcastic comments earlier.

"I- um." He muttered at a loss for words, "I guess our parents have a knack for raising a certain 'type' of person." He mustered together vaguely.

"Well hello there handsome." Zac purred, excited.

"What on earth is going on?" Ricky asked on behalf of us.

"This guy, Zac was it? Is my mate." Dante explained awkwardly.

"Say my name again, that sounded so hot!" Zac jumped in, wriggling his brows.

"So I'm the only straight guy here now? Great!" Ricky gasped out in shock.

"No! I'm straight!" Dante told him in complete denial.

"Not anymore bestie. Do you need a tour of your new life from your beauty of a brother?" I cooed.

"I know you're the king and everything but fuck off Kindly." He nipped at me.

"Ok princess." I joked since Zac was a king to be himself.

Letting out a frustrated groan, Dante turned and wondered off Zac suddenly hot on his heels to spend time with his new mate.

"Don't reject him or I'll kill you!" I yelled to Dante.

"I'm not an asshole! Sorry Aries!" He called over his shoulder before disappearing from sight, Zac shortly after.

"Ouch." Aries whined at Dante's jab.

I just shrugged my shoulders at his reaction now having a reply because he was an asshole. Thankfully all of that was in the past now.

"Anyway, on this...weird note, lets head to the office and finalise the approvals from the meeting." I sighed.

"Sounds good." They both said at the same time so I nodded, leading the way through the winding castle.

Later, I fully intended to see mother and sit with her to discuss the conversation with Ray but for now I was happy to avoid that conversation. Either way, it was important I enjoyed whatever time I had with the guys until they had to leave again.

Maybe minus Dante, he had long conversations to be had with Zac.
