Xavier's POV:

Today was the day.

The moon ceremony.

Practically every moment since the party had been spent preparing for today and I was thankful it would finally be over with so a little normality could finally return. The house has been a wreck all week as my parents prepared Dante for today so I'd felt a little forgotten over the last week.

I wandered around the ceremony grounds, which was beginning to fill with people steadily. Everyone was dressed in formal wear, including me, but I knew past the dressy attire, anyone with eyes could see I looked like death. I hadn't slept properly in days because of that night replaying in my head like a broken record.

Confusion flowed through my veins like ice for the millionth time since that night as I glanced around in a haze, my mind elsewhere.

Was I gay? Was I bi? Was Aries?

Most of all, what the fuck happened?

Subtly shaking my head, I tried to wipe the wondering thoughts from my mind yet again, knowing now wasn't the place or time.

Today was Dante's big day and I needed to get it together for the family. I'd been kicked out this morning after I'd gotten ready so my parents could prepare Dante and focus on him. I needed to stop worrying about this Aries stuff for Dante's sake. After today, he'll have his mate and I can go back to my life without worrying about that stupid night.

I had to go help Bella prepare anyway which would help distract me. It was required for all girls to present themselves as a potential mate for the three most powerful ranks to be and most likely Bella was going crazy in anticipation; therefore, I needed to be there for her.

My tie hung around my neck untied, my blazer unbuttoned and loose. My slacks, trousers and dress shirt clung to my body almost uncomfortably, with my converse ruining the formal look. Yet again, I ran my hand through my hair, most likely making it look like I had sex hair with the amount I'd ruffled it. I looked and felt hungover

As I neared the pack house I could hear the yelling and frantic voices of all the omegas trying to get ready. I knew this would be a big occasion for them since omegas usually had to run events rather than attend. Everyone was most likely excited to dress up like Bella mentioned.

Stepping through the front door was like stepping into a beauty contest. Hairspray clung to the air along with the stench of nail polish. Heels where clacking off the floor boards from near every direction and the frantic voices grew louder with every passing minute. I headed straight for Bella's room not wanting to endure any more of this lunacy.

I knocked lightly on Bella's door hearing a voice yell "come in" before entering. Standing in front of the mirror stood a dressed Bella fixing her earrings and makeup looking stunning. She had on a blue flowing gown with complemented her perfectly, her hair was in waves cascading down her back and her makeup light but noticeable. I'm lucky this girl is my best friend.

"Wow Bella you've knocked it out the park," I said in amazement as I shut the door behind me, trapping the stench of hairspray in the hall.

"And you haven't! Jeez Matthews, why do you look like road kill," she tutted as she crossed her room and began fixing my hair.

I sighed and looked down at her, giving her the 'I don't want to talk about it' look to which she complied and nodded.

Next, she fixed my tie and then ordered me to put on my blazer to which I did with a little protest about how uncomfortable it was. I guess I looked more presentable because she stepped back with a smile and nodded in achievement, giving me a thumbs up.
