Xanders POV

Anxiously bending the corners of my speech messily scrawled on paper, I stared in the now replaced mirror in my bedroom at my attire. The red coat, adorned with gold buttons and cuffs, the smart black dress pants and shoes as well as the crown I received with my title. It was something I was slowly growing more used to seeing.

The moment was cut short as three sharp knocks sounded on my door signalling the official coronation was beginning.

"You can do this." I muttered, putting my anxiety at bay.

I had a kingdom on my shoulders, there was no time for petty feelings. I needed to be strong.

With that in mind, I threw the speech on the bed and left the room, starting my long walk to the main room. I could hear the crowd from here growing in anticipation of my arrival. However, all the staff lining the hall bowing as I continued my journey captured my sight the most.

Seeing all these people put their trust and faith in me filled me with a determination like no other. I'd be the best dammed king there is and not just for my father.

Straightening my posture, I reached the end of the hallway where the golden double doors stood. The angelic detailing swirled around the door, telling a story, completely captivating me as I awaited the doors to open.

"May I announce, the future king, Prince Xander!" A voice hollered before the doors swung open.

The crowd came into view, silence filling the room as I entered. I could see all the pack leaders, including Aries and his pack leaders. Along with the packs were some other royals from different kingdoms such as Zac. Speaking of, when I caught sight of Zac, I had to hold myself together as I noticed he was fake blowing his nose into a hanky, waving like the queen at me.

Thankfully, I managed to hold composure and head to the podium where the microphone stood.

"As many of you are aware, my presence grew absent for a long time. I feel it is my duty to explain this before taking position as your king. I hope to build a trust within the packs and look forward to working with you all individually. Once my story has been told, I hope you all understand why I highlight the importance of building bridges between the royals and packs. I hope to serve you all well and make my father proud of what his legacy has become." I began, captivating everyones attention.

Every single eye in the room was on me, anticipating what I'd say next, desperate to know where the lost prince has been.

"Formally, I held a position within the red moon pack." I said, making eye contact with Aries, Bella, Ricky and Dante. "As a baby, I was taken in by the pack members and raised as their own. It was unknown I was the prince due to a curse placed on me by a witch. The curse was only broken after I died at the hands of my mate rejecting me." I could see the pain in Aries' eyes so tried to quickly move the topic on.

"This curse allowed a fake wolf to manifest and hide my true wolf. It left me with powers less than a gamma. I understand this is confusing, however, the pieces have not been fully put together yet and it'll be a priority to work out in order to eliminate any further threats."

I took a deep breath at this. Holding eye contact with my former pack mates, I could see the slow realisation in their eyes. They all had their breath held, awaiting the confirmation they needed.

"Formally, My name was Xavier. I was son to the gammas. My best friend was and is an amazing girl called Bella who is the best chef I know. My brother is called Dante, who despite the fact I argued with all the time, is the best brother I have. My mate, the alpha of the red moon pack is Aries and he already worked this out, in fact, we fixed our mate bond. The reason I tell you this all is as your future king, I aim to not withhold any secrets moving forward, I aim to provide the highest of responsibility towards ensuring the safety of packs and I aim to welcome you all to the castle whenever a crisis is occurring. Thank you." Silence filled the room as I took a step back from the podium.

Then slowly, one by one, people began to stand, clapping and smiling. Relief flowed through me at the room filled with people who were happy to have me as their next king but I couldn't help my eyes wondering to those who mattered most. There, within the crowd was Bella, standing on her goddammed chair, hollering and whooping that it was her best friend on stage. I could see both Dante and Ricky both standing clapping, smiles on their faces. Lastly, I could see Aries, smirking his knowing smirk. The smirk that drove me crazy because it meant he knew he was right, that I really could do this.

I couldn't help but smile and chuckle as I looked out at the room. I was thankful for this and couldn't wait to see what was going to change now I was almost king.

The rest of the ceremony was fairly short with me agreeing to the pack laws and agreeing to the royal bill of duties a king held. Afterwards, the crown was removed from my head only to be replaced with a different crown. The one my father wore. A crown fit for a king.

"May I announce your king, King Xander!" The worker hollered, earning more claps and celebration.

Quickly, I was ushered out of the room afterwards to get ready for the after party gala held in the ball room. After a quick run down with my butler on who I needed to talk to tonight, I was allowed to head into the ballroom.

Immediately, people began coming up to me and congratulating me, trying to discuss business with their packs.

"please, if you write a letter with all information concerned I can take a look at it a sort a proper response for you on possible solutions." I told an alpha as I shook his hand, quickly moving on.

Finally, after shuffling through the crowd, I found the small group I was looking for.

"Bella!" I yelled over the music, waiting for her to catch sight of me.

Quickly her head turned my way, a huge smile blossoming on her face.

"Xaiv..."
