"So, when are you going home?" Leo asked, readjusting his mask so it covered his nose bridge. Valentina's phone started to ring and she shrieked, jumping and clawing at her purse to answer it.
"Whenever I see Dean again," I replied drily. Why does the Ave have to be so damn steep?
"And when is that? Thanksgiving?" Leo raised an eyebrow.
"I don't know. But just between us, I am not looking forward to it," I sighed.
"Why not?"
"Oh my god, he is such a bitch! Dump his ass!" Valentina screamed into her phone, livid with rage. "I know his pathetic Sasuke-cosplaying unwashed ass did NOT just try to make YOU feel like the ugly one!" Leo and I both paused and looked at each other.
"Is she okay?" I asked quietly.
"I think she's fine, it's just her girlfriend that's going through it," Leo replied.
"Give me that address!" Valentina snapped. "I'll fucking toilet paper his place! I don't give a shit!" She turned back towards us. "Sorry, guys. One of my friends has a situation," she spoke quickly, slurring some of her words together drunkenly. "I'll be right back!" with that, she turned and started walking away. Leo and I exchanged looks, unsure how to proceed.
"I'm invested now," Leo murmured.
"Yeah, me too. Sounds interesting," I replied. Both of us followed Valentina, trying to keep up with her.
Just then, I felt something grab me by the back. I froze.
"Dave, what's wrong?"
"I-"
I turned around and grabbed onto the attacker's arm, ready to twist their wrist or fling them against the wall. But instead, I found myself face-to-face with none other than Prince Charming himself.
"Hey! David, good to see you!" Dean grinned, flashing me his million-watt smile. "Whoa! Your grip's strong. Have you been working out?"
Great. The LAST person I wanted to see right now.
"Oh, hey. Who's this?" Leo asked, peering over my shoulder. I coughed and immediately let go of Dean's hand.
"This," I tried my best to not sound like I would rather slit myself in half than be having this conversation, "Is Dean. He's dating my friend Marie."
"Oh!" Leo replied, and I watched as his drunken brain put the pieces together. He went silent and looked over Dean for a few seconds, trying to get a good look at the man who cucked me. I covered my face in my hands, sighing.
I would do anything to not be here right now.
"So, uh, who are you dressed up as?" Leo asked. "Boromir?"
"Oh, Galavant," Dean replied cheerily. "From the show, Galavant."
"Huh, okay," I replied.
