Aspirations
Chapter 46It had been a week since your fight with Aizawa. Which meant a week since your embarrassing texts to Hawks. Worry and stress had started to settle into place as the week wore on. What made you worry was the fact that Hawks had been silent after a short response.
Hawks:
Be careful. What kind of response was that? What were you supposed to have been careful about? After unthinkingly texting him, asking him to have sex in a round about way, and then trying to take it back with a "never mind", you had expected something. Something more or different than a 'be careful'. Especially as you hadn't seen him in over a week and that had been the last thing he sent you.
You had tried not to stress out on it, really you had. Hawks was a pro-hero. You knew he had a lot of demands on his time; too many to see you every day, or even every couple of days, for something as small as lunch. It just sucked because he also hadn't texted you a single morning flight picture either. Funny how quickly you'd gotten used to him sending a bird's eye view shot of wherever he was in the morning.
Was he okay? Was he safe? Was whatever big bad thing he'd been worried about in a couple months starting early?
Had you upset him with the idea of wanting to have sex? Despite media examples to the contrary, Japan was on the more conservative side, by large. It was why there'd been a culture of Quirk Marriages for a long time rather than designer babies like in other countries. You figured it was the conservative views that had kept the Reproduction Initiative low key.
Though Hawks had signed up for the program too, the week of silence after such audacious texts had made you doubt yourself and fret. Which wasn't helped by your period. Your moods and thoughts had been all over the place with the extra hormones you were taking in the morning. Thankfully you were able to duck out to the bathroom to regain your composure anytime an irritant had gotten too much throughout the week. Otherwise Monoma might have gotten hit; his manic boasting was too much to take for long.
Although watching class 1A get creamed in the practical budgeting was beyond amusing.
Especially Momo and Katsuki. While seeing Iida trying not to look disheartened was actually really sad, watching the rich girl in class have to deal with paying bills through the week without her family's money was satisfying. And Katsuki? Well...
"What?!" Katsuki boomed as he was denied the high-protein food options Lunch Rush had out due to 'insufficient funds in his account'.
He seethed heavily as he went back with his bowl of rice and single egg. He'd done the smart thing and chosen a raw one but he was still likely to have issues keeping up the energy later on. From your spot you vaguely saw Kirishima try to offer him another side option from his own plate but Katsuki turned it down. To his credit he was trying to play by the rules of the experimental lesson. The same lesson that class 1B was wiping the floor with class 1A over.
The only one in class 1A that was succeeding over all the students in Class 1B was Todoroki. Though you suspected that was because Mount Lady and Midnight had "accidentally" turned him into the Prince of the whole thing. His mock approval rating from the females was disproportionate and highly amusing.
"This is going well."
You turned and smiled at Vlad King, rocking on the back of your heels in pride as you focused on the moment. It was better than focusing on the worry you felt over the whole Hawks situation.
"You're just happy that class 1B is in the lead this week," you teased him, bumping him with your shoulder.
"Of course my class is in the lead!" He said confidently. "But they still have a long way to go before they're ready to face the world as adult heroes. This is good for them."
