Aspiration
Chapter 77You watched the clock on your cell phone very intently. Nervously. It wasn't that you were afraid of Hawks, per say. It was just that the situation, like last night, had you very worried. It went without saying that you worried about his rising temperature, the increase in blood pressure and how fast his heartbeat had gotten. You were actually very worried about all of that. Especially with how quickly the visual signs had started to appear - flushed cheeks, more rapid breathing, head leaned back, neck veins bulging, perspiration glistening. Now there was an added layer of worry.
One you'd have to face in 45 minutes.
44 minutes...
You'd told him that the onset arousal needed to last through either a cold shower or the span of an hour. With the way that Hawks had started to show symptoms, though, you couldn't help but feel guilty. He was suffering because he'd come when you'd called him for help. And he was suffering because he was listening to your boundaries, your restrictions, instead of trying to convince you to change your mind.
You couldn't lie; you enjoyed that immensely. The fact that he was listening to what you'd said despite how uncomfortable that made him, that he was putting in the effort...that was a very attractive quality. Just like the night before it helped to reaffirm that you could trust him in a variety of ways - with your physical safety as well as your mental safety.
40 minutes...
The issue, the one that you hadn't really worried about the night prior, was the fact that you and he were on a plane. A very crowded plane with a bunch of people. A goodly amount of people, teens, that you knew and professionals that you would be getting to know soon. Hawks had already put on quite the show when he'd relocated you from your starting seat to the front of the plane to be with him and his agency. Todoroki had gotten under his skin to the point that Hawks had decided the best way to end the stand off had been to make a point. Kissing you where everyone could see had been the way the point was delivered. He'd broadcasted his claim to your attention loud and clear. Which meant that he'd also aired his intentions with you so loudly that any attempt at discretion would fail.
The bathroom being at the end of the plane really didn't help that socially conscious monster inside of your head.
35 minutes...
"Hawks," one of the voices across the way called out.
You looked to see the sidekick that was calling out for the number two hero. He had on a full coverage helmet that was very obviously meant to replicate a bird's head. That was pretty much all you could see as Hawks was obscuring your vision.
"Are you okay?"
You didn't try to suppress the grimace given the fact that the man beside you had all but hidden you away in his quirk. Hawks, however, kept his guard up as his neutral expressions shielded his real thoughts. He had that eightfold fence down pat when in public. You were suddenly rather jealous of that.
"Yeah," he said as he looked out towards the group of sidekicks he had for this mission. "I'm just excited."
Oh the double meanings were back. Hawks allowed a grin to warm his expression as he said he was excited. If you were so worried about him, and of the reputation that you were probably going to get in about 34 minutes, you might have even rolled your eyes.
"Excited?" Tokoyami mused with a disturbed tone.
"Yeah. It's not everyday we get this kind of chance."
You could feel Hawks pulling you in closer with his wing as he spoke. His arm, previously in a relaxed position across your shoulders, fell a little. He let his shoulder drop just enough that it looked like he'd let it fall to his side. Given that he had a wing curling around you, and that you were now squished to his side, it could have been plausible.
