Aspiration
Chapter 74"I don't think we have the time right now," you told the male honestly.
You cupped one side of his face, fingers brushing his thick blond hair, and your thumbs traced the black, triangular markings at the outer corners of his eyes. There was a languid serenity about him which was a good thing. He wasn't all tensed up and his heart rate was much closer to normal compared to before. Even his temperature had subdued. Which only seemed to confirm your hypothesis about how to treat the sex drug that heroes were being targeted with. After all, the hours he'd spent locked away by himself had only exacerbated the effects. The time he'd spent handling himself with you touching him in some manner had brought relief enough to sleep but it had still taken a while to achieve that. At least when compared to how he was now. After less than 30 minutes of sex, his symptoms had all but vanished.
"It might be smarter to make the time," Hawks murmured as he looked at you through dark lashes.
You smiled and felt a soundless laugh rise from your chest. Somehow you got the impression that if it wasn't for the terrorist attack he'd been called in for, that he would have been happy to stay hidden away in the closet sized break room for a very long time. You wouldn't have been surprised if he had already considered taking a nap just as he was, even though you and he hadn't been awake that long.
"There are a number of reasons that wouldn't work," you reminded him, your hand tracing down the side of his face to rest on his unclothed shoulder. "You have to get back to work for starters."
Hawks let out a sigh as he finally sat up, one leg pulled close to his body while the other one stretched out. "You really got to learn to lighten up. If you don't stop to enjoy the little things, you're going to end up all angry and bitter doing this you know."
Your grin turned a little more mischievous than before. You ignored the dizziness inside of your head as you started to stand up. "What? You didn't like the angry sex?"
Hawks was quiet as he studied your expression. As far as you were concerned though, he really needed to stop looking at you through that heavy lidded expression of his. You had a hard time staying serious around him and that mixture of puppy dog and come hither stare of his was just too much. It made you want to capitulate to his every whim when you weren't actively mad at him. Especially after a session like that - he had put in a lot of effort and it had paid off. To the point that you were internally joking about wondering what you'd ever been mad at him for to begin with.
To be fair though...you hadn't had a bad experience with either of the men you'd had sex with; they'd both gone well above and beyond as far as you were concerned. It was just that the round with Hawks was still so fresh at hand and you were still sorting through what felt to be a betrayal from Aizawa.
"So did that just happen because you were angry at Eraserhead?"
He sounded casual enough but there was something in the way he looked up at you and the way he moved that felt vulnerable. You were quiet for a few seconds as the weight of what had just happened settled in your stomach. The immorality of the whole situation, of what you'd just done, felt stifling.
Had you'd just fucked Hawks because you were mad at Aizawa? Was that the kind of person you were?
Redirecting the fury you'd felt at Aizawa had been what had sparked the moment. You couldn't deny that. But even through the guilt setting in, it felt like more than that.
"No," you answered him slowly, quietly, as you moved to retrieve your undergarments first. "Not going to lie, being angry was a catalyst but I've wanted to help you since the moment I found out you were shot. Which is odd because after everything in the last few months, I should still be furious with you."
