Jughead's POV:

When she finished telling me about the Southside I finally understood why my dad never told me about this. But still, I wondered why he had lied to me about living on the Northside growing up.

"Thank you for telling me about this Betty. I appreciate it." I told her.

"No problem. It's nice having someone try to understand us for once. You have no idea how good that feels." She told me.

"Well, I'm glad I could help you feel good Betts." I said. I kissed her on her lips before she could respond.

"I love you too Juggie." She told me when we pulled apart.

I gave her a sneaky smirk. I wanted so badly to do it with her right here right now.

"Oh... What ya thinking there Jug?" She asked me. Based on the way she was looking at me, I knew she was onto me.

"I was thinking... What if we did something naughty? I mean, we have the whole place to ourselves." I told her.

"I really wish I could Jug. But I should get back to my trailer. My roommate will be worried about me if I don't show up soon." She explained.

I understood and I was about to say so when there was a clap of thunder. Betty screamed.

"Betty, what is it? What's wrong?" I asked her.

"You're going to think I'm childish." She said.

"I promise I won't. Whatever it is, you can tell me." I told her.

"Okay. I'm afraid of thunderstorms. Now I'm thinking that maybe I shouldn't head out in that storm. I'll just tell my roommate that I couldn't get back to the trailer because I got caught in the rain while running an errand. I'll tell them that a friend let me crash at their place for the night. My roommate knows that I'm terrified of thunderstorms and that I wouldn't be riding my motorcycle in this weather." She explained to me.

"I don't think you're childish at all," I told her. "I think that you were brave to tell me that you're afraid. That took some real courage. I couldn't be prouder of you Betts."

"Really?" She asked me.

"Really," I told her.

"Wanna watch a movie?" She asked me.

"Sure. As long as we get to cuddle during the movie." I told her.

"You drive a hard bargain Jones. But let's do it." She said.

"Perfect." I replied.

An hour into the movie Betty fell asleep on my lap. I didn't want to wake her up so I let her sleep. I turned the TV off and went to sleep too.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I woke up the next morning to sniffling. Betty felt really warm against my body. I might have thought it had just been the body heat coming off of her if I hadn't felt her forehead. She was burning up.
"Betty, wake up," I said to her as I shook her gently to wake her up.
"Jug, what's going on?" She asked me,
"You're burning up. You're sick." I told her.
"You have got to be kidding me. I can't be sick right now!" She exclaimed.
"I'm sorry Betty but you are not going anywhere until you're feeling better. You are going to rest and take care of yourself. I'll be here to take care of you. I promise." I explained.
"But Jug..."
I cut her off.
"No buts Betty. You're sick so you're staying here until you're feeling better." I reprimanded her.
"Jug..." She tried to stand up but she had to sit back down because she felt woozy.
"I'm telling you, I'm fine." She tried to tell me.
"You're not fine. Tell your roommate that you came down with a fever and that your friend is having you stay until your better. I'm not taking "no" as an answer Betts." I told her.
"Fine Jug," She said. *Cough* "I'll tell my roommate that I'm sick and that I'll be staying here until I'm feeling better."
"That's better. Now I'm going to make you some soup and bring you some medicine to help you feel better." I told her.
"Thank you Juggie. For everything." She told me.
"Anything for you Betts. I love you." I said.
"I love you too." She said. She took out her phone and texted her roommate that she came down with a fever. As soon as I came back into the living room I saw that Betty was fast asleep on the couch. That was fine by me because I knew she was resting and helping herself to feel better.
I stroked some hair out of her face. She was breathtaking even when she was sick. I'll do everything in my power to help her feel better. I have to. I love her.
