Jughead's POV:

The next morning I met Toni at the hospital at exactly 9:00 am so we could see Betty and see how she was doing. I was hoping that she was doing better and that it was nothing serious. Something that the doctors could cure. I could tell Toni was nervous too. She was after all one of Betty's Serpents and Betty's roommate.

The receptionist asked us how she could help us.

"Jughead Jones and Toni Topaz here to see Betty Cooper," I said to her.

"Ah. Mr. Jones. You're the one that brought Betty here yesterday is that correct?" She asked me.

"Yes." I replied.

"Well, you already know where her room is. Go ahead." She told us.

"Thank you," Toni told her.

As we walked towards Betty's room I could tell that Toni was worried about Betty.

"Hey. She's going to be okay." I told her.

"How do you know that?" She asked."Because... Well... I just do. I can tell she's pretty tough." I explained.

"Thanks, Jones. The Serpents haven't been without a leader in a long time and everyone's worried about Betty." Toni explained to me.

"I had no idea that it was that bad," I said.

"How could you have known? You don't come to the Whyte Wyrm that often." She said.

"Touche." I said.

We entered Betty's room and she looked like she was doing better.

"How're you feeling Betty?" I asked her. I took a seat beside her bed.

"I'm doing better. I still have a fever but it's not as high as it was yesterday." She said.

"That's wonderful," I said. I could tell a small smile was beginning to form on my face.

"Thanks. The doctor said my temperature is at 100.3 now." Betty explained.

"I'm glad you're feeling better Betty," I said.

"So am I Betty. The Serpents are worried about you because you haven't been back at the Whyte Wyrm in a while." Toni told Betty.

"It's that bad huh?" Betty asked.

"Yeah. But later I can head over there and tell them that you're okay and that you'll hopefully be back soon." Toni said.

"Thanks, Toni. That's why you're my right-hand woman. I can always count on you to do the right thing by the Serpents." Betty said.

"Toni, could uh... Betty and I have a few minutes alone?" I asked.

"Sure. I should be heading to the Whyte Wyrm anyway. I'll be at the trailer or the Whyte Wyrm if you need me, Betty." Toni said.

"Thanks, Toni." Betty said.

Toni didn't say another word and walked out of Betty's room.

"I was so worried about you that I barely slept last night," I told Betty.

"Jug, you need to get some sleep. If not for yourself, then for my sake. I don't want your nerves to cause you to be this exhausted. It's sweet that you're worried, but I'll be okay. The doctors said it was a strong virus but they extracted all of it last night." Betty explained to me.

"I'm so relieved to hear that Betts. So, when do you think you'll be discharged?" I asked.

"I'm hoping tomorrow. That's if my temperature returns to normal." She told me.

"I know it will Betty," I told her.

"Thank you Juggie. You're so sweet." She told me.

"That's what I'm here for Betts," I said.

Then a doctor came in.

"Miss Cooper it's time for your medicine." The doctor said.

"Okay." She said.

Betty took the meds without complaint.

"And who might you be?" The doctor asked me.

"I'm Miss Cooper's boyfriend. I'm also the one who brought her in yesterday." I explained.

"Oh. I'm sorry. Carry on. Just no monkey business." The doctor said.

"We promise not to fool around." Betty said.

The doctor nodded and walked out.

"Jughead seriously go home and get some sleep. I'll be fine." She told me.

"Fine. You win." I chuckled.

She chuckled too.

"I love you Jug." She said.

"I love you too Betts," I responded.

I kissed her forehead and left.

When I got back to my house I slept fairly easier because I knew that Betty was going to be okay. I knew that she was safe where she was.
