Betty's POV:
I woke up what felt like a couple of minutes later, but when I looked at my phone I realized it had been 2 hours since I had fallen asleep. I looked on the table and there was a note.
Dear Betty,
I didn't want to disturb you because you look so peaceful when you're sleeping. I had to run a quick errand at the drug store because I realized that we didn't have any cold medicine. I'll be back soon. Your soup is in a container in the fridge. Make sure to eat some when you wake up.
Love,
Jughead
Jughead had gone to get medicine to take care of me. He is so sweet. I was feeling a little bit better so I went to the fridge like Jughead had told me to and got my soup. I heated it up in the microwave. I ate as much as I could without feeling sick. Which turned out to be most of it. A minute later I heard keys jingling in the lock. Jughead must be home from the drug store.

Jughead's POV:
I came home and saw that Betty was awake and had most of her soup finished.
"Well, looks like you're feeling better," I said. I could feel a smile forming on my face.
"Not 100% Jug, but a bit better. It helps that I had a 2-hour nap." She said.
I just chuckled and gave her her medicine. She took it without complaining.
"Thank you for taking care of me Jug. It's really sweet of you." She told me.
"I'll do everything in my power to help you feel better Betty," I said.
"Really?" She asked. *sniffle*
"Really," I said. "I love you."
"I love you too Jug." She said.
"Do you need anything?" I asked her.
"Not right now." She said. *yawn*
"I think you need some more rest. You look pretty tired." I told her.
"I'm fine *cough cough*. Really." She said. Then she sneezed.
"It sounds like you're getting worse Betty. How about this? I can carry you upstairs and tuck you in my bed so you can get some rest." I suggested.
"You sure you wouldn't mind Juggie?" She asked.
"I'm sure." I said.
"Okay then. I guess I could use a nap." She said.
"Come on," I said.
I carried her bridal style up to my room. I set her down in the bed after adjusting the sheets to make sure that I could tuck her in properly. Once I tucked her in I told her that I would be right downstairs if she needed anything. She thanked me and fell asleep. I kissed her forehead and went downstairs.
Then I got a call from Archie.
"Hey man," I answered.
"Hey, Jughead! I got a new video game! Want to come try it out?" He asked me.
"Sorry man. I have a lot to do around the house. In case you haven't heard, my father was killed the other day so I don't really feel up to playing video games right now." I told him and hung up.
It wasn't a complete lie. I did have stuff to do since my dad died. But I had to keep this relationship with Betty a secret. Especially from Archie because he didn't like the Serpents and thought that they were bad news. I hated keeping this big of a secret from Archie, but I wanted to protect Betty, my, relationship, the town, and myself. Archie can't keep a secret to save his life. So, as much as I hated it, I had to keep this from Archie.
While Betty was resting I was looking on my laptop for funeral homes where we could bury my dad. I never thought that my dad's life would end like this. I never thought that I would be 23 when he died. (I know. 23 and living with dad.) I always thought I would be a lot older. While I was looking for funeral homes I started tearing up because I missed my dad a lot.
Suddenly I heard a violent cough coming from upstairs. I ran up there as fast as I could to check on Betty. She just finished coughing as I entered the room and fell back asleep. She must not have seen me. I quietly walked over to her and felt her forehead. She was even hotter now than when she woke up this morning. I had to get her to the hospital. NOW!
I violently shook her awake. When she woke up she asked me what was going on. I told her that her fever had gotten worse and we had to get to the hospital. I put her in one of my hoodies and covered her hair with the hood. I put on a pair of really dark sunglasses so that no one would recognize Betty as the Serpent Queen while at the hospital. Hopefully, if a nurse did end up recognizing her they would still treat her.
I got her into the car and drove as fast as I could without breaking the law. I had so many thoughts running through my head. I was so worried about Betty.
When I got there I explained that she had a bad fever. They got her on a gurney and told me to stay in the lobby while they got her settled in a room and started her treatment.
I did as I was told, but because I was so worried that I started crying in my chair. I didn't care that people saw me. I was worried about the life of my girlfriend. I hope she would be alright.
