Betty's POV:
The next morning after our shenanigans I felt something hot against my forearm. I noticed that my arm was on Jughead's forehead. He's burning up. I shook him awake.
"Mmmm... Betty... What's going on?" He asked me.
"Juggie. You're burning up. I think you have the flu or something." I explained.
"Wh... What? How... How is that possible?" He asked. "I felt fine yesterday."
"I don't know. But what I do know is, is that you're not going anywhere today mister. You need to rest so you can take care of yourself." I told him.
"But what about our announcement for the Serpents?" He asked. His voice was so hoarse.
"I know we were planning on doing that today, but you are too sick to do that. We'll just have to postpone." I said.
"No." He said. Then he coughed. He tried to sit up, but he grabbed his head, said he felt lightheaded and laid back down.
"I'm not taking "no" for an answer Jug. You are staying here and I'm taking care of you until you're feeling better. There will be no "buts" about it. That's final." I said.
He mouthed a quick thank you and fell back asleep.
I rubbed some strands of hair out of his face. I felt bad that he was unwell. But I knew that I was going to do everything in my power to make him feel better. Just like he had taken care of me when I was sick.
I decided to go to the bathroom and get him some medicine. When I went back into the room I filled the cap to the recommended amount and shook Jughead awake.
"Hey Betts." He said. His voice sounding a bit worse.
"Here. Take this Jug. I know you may not want to, but I want you to feel better fast." I said.
He took the medicine without complaining.
"Now, I'm going to make you some tea with honey and some orange juice. The tea will help soothe your throat and the orange juice will help get you some vitamin C to help you feel better quicker." I said.
He mouthed thank you again and laid down to rest. I gently kissed him on his forehead and went downstairs.
I found some chamomile tea in the cabinet and some honey in there. I quick threw a cup of water into the microwave so I could heat it up. While that was doing its thing I opened the package and set the tea bag on the counter. I grabbed a cup from the cabinet and some orange juice from the fridge. As soon as I was done pouring the orange juice and putting it back in the fridge, the microwave beeped, signaling that the water was ready. I put the teabag into the mug and let it steep while I mixed in some honey.
I texted Toni to tell her that she was in charge of the Whyte Wyrm today. I explained that Jughead is sick so I would be taking care of him until he felt better. Toni said she wouldn't disappoint me. I knew she wouldn't disappoint me. I knew she would take the job seriously.
A minute later the tea was done. I grabbed a collapsible tray, set it up, and put Jughead's drinks on it. I gently went upstairs, making sure I wouldn't spill. Luckily, I had left his bedroom door open. I saw that he was fast asleep. So I set the tray down on the end table and shook him awake.
"Here's your tea and juice Jug. The tea is steaming so I would drink the juice first while you wait for the tea to cool down a bit." I said.
"Thank you, Betty. It means a lot to me that you're taking care of me." He said in barely a whisper.
"Shhh. Rest your voice. Drink your liquids and get some rest. I'll be down in the living room if you need anything. I'll be up here to check on you periodically." I said.
He nodded and began drinking his juice. I messed up his hair a bit and left the room. I really want him to recover soon.
