There's gonna be some action in this chapter, so hold on tight.
This might be a bit emotionally hard for Reyna, but we'll see!
Enjoy! x)
"Have you gathered the group together like I asked you to?" I ask without a hello when I get down to the guards's training room.
"Yes, Valda." The group's leader answers without hesitation.
"Perfect, then we're ready to go."
We head down to the stables where the group of eight riders are waiting on us. With our horses standing ready.
We hop on the backs of the horses and quickly leave, the evening air slowly creeping up on us, making the air feel light but with a creeping chill.
I follow the map to where the supposed location of our missing weapons are located.
No one but me and the group I am with know what we're doing or where we're going. I don't want anyone to get hurt. My family is my first priority and if they lose me, at least they'll have less people to mourn than what I would have.
It might be selfish, that I don't want to lose anyone I love and mourn after them, but I'd rather live with that than with grief.
Even if we have less light at night than what we had in Summer, we still have plenty to our sights' advantage. Just in case, we have packed some torches with us to see better, if needed.
It seems to take a few hours to get to our destination.
The destination being a hidden mineshaft in the wall of the biggest and only mountain. The mountain that Lacuna is built beside. But, far enough to not be seen in any way. It's hidden in a corner, far away from the city. You can't even see it on the road nor from Lacuna.
Well hidden, and maybe trap-filled.
By the time we get there, the horses are sweating. We stop some distance away to bind our horses in the shadows and to keep them safe if something happens.
