Merry christmas to those that celebrate it either today or tomorrow, and good day/night to those that don't! As a "present" I decided to do a double update, so here's the first one of the day :) The second one gets updated right after.

Enjoy!

I stare blankly at the desk I am sitting at, a pile of papers on my left side. The doodle I've worked on for the past ten minutes sits in front of me. Beside my hand that my head is leaning on.

The pen in my other hand is flicked between my fingers.

If someone was looking at me right now, they would probably use the phrase 'no thoughts behind those eyes'. Which is also true in a sense.

I'm so far in my own mind that there is nothing to think about. Only unfocused eyes and a dissociated mind.

The drawing in front of me is something I out of nowhere got in my mind, and I just suddenly started doodling it while the paperwork I was working on was left behind.

It isn't due any time soon so it could wait. But even the doodling didn't keep my focus for longer than ten minutes.

My thoughts get interrupted by a small heart attack.

The door to the office gets thrown open, Ríona looking frantic and stressed when she gets inside, but sighs in relief when she seems to find what she needs.

In this case, it seems to be me, specifically.

"Do you have a moment to spare?" She asks while she sits in front of me on the same uncomfortable chair that I am sitting on on the other side.

A very lady-like sitting might I say myself. My right leg is curled under me while my left is perched up to keep my left hand raised while I do tricks with my pen.

"Sure, I'm not really doing much right now. I'm actually waiting on Weylyn, as the ever loving brother - he is also late by twenty minutes now."

Ríona shakes her head with a small smile, recognizing her son in my description of time management.

"This only takes a minute," She raises her right hand, a paper between her fingers. I didn't notice that before. "Could you be a dear and sign on this? You don't have to worry about the content or what it says, it isn't really that important. We just need one more sign to get it through."

I sit up straighter, intrigued by this paper, which seems to have no importance. But somehow I doubt that.

"What is it about?"

"Oh it's nothing more than a paper that asks for permission for some new building. They wanted signatures from us rulers plus one more. And I thought maybe the plus one signature should be someone who isn't exactly in the leading, but a high person either way." Her smile reaches her eyes, but it seems a little frantic at the same time.
