I don't know how long I sit in the cell alone. No one is coming to get me out, nor can I get out either.

I've tried multiple times to hit the lock of the cell door with no signs of it breaking. I yelled my lungs out - them feeling like harsh stones - and used my energy on kicking and pulling on the bars. But no one has come in. And I'll probably be here till the flames catch up and take me with the rest of the castle.

The smoke has gotten worse, the smell plastered to the walls and soon probably on to my clothes. Fortunately the smoke isn't heavy in the cell yet. Which means I won't get sick and lose consciousness because of it. If I stay here for too long though, it will happen.

At some point I am about to doze off, with no conception of time - of much time has gone since I sent that owl.

I know sending that message to Reyna was dangerous, but she has a bigger chance to get through the guards when she knows what is happening. If they would've known where she was and captured her, it could have been a hard situation for her.

Right when I'm about to close my eyes, I hear a loud commotion outside of the cell room. I sit up straighter, trying to listen after what is happening.

A few minutes go by, signs of fighting and struggling outside the door. And then it gets silent.

I hear the rustling of keys and hurried hands trying to open the lock.

When the door is opened, I see who it is. And relief comes over my body, but also shock since I wasn't expecting anyone.

Thank you.

To whoever has listened to me.

When I saw Nuallán running hysterically into town again without Ascian on his back - I knew immediately something was wrong

When I saw Nuallán running hysterically into town again without Ascian on his back - I knew immediately something was wrong.

I didn't have much time before I reacted. I got on Nuallán and made him run back where he came from, and on the road I saw a group of guards with someone on one of the horse's backs. I immediately knew it was Ascian.
