Let the winter ball begin x)
Enjoyyy!
After putting on my vest, and checking that I have everything I need in the big pockets us men have been blessed with, I leave my room and go down the castle stairs and hallways.
I reach the carriage I am supposed to sit in when traveling to Asteria. Though I've made a request to have Nuallán transported here, in case I want to or have to leave earlier than the carriage.
He is ridden by some other guard, outside the carriage in front of me where the Royals sit in.
After what feels like forever, we arrive at the castle grounds of Asteria. The castle grounds are full of life and people, their eyes shining, souls happily dancing with each other at the gathering.
I get out of the carriage, approaching my Royals.
We walked into the castle, the big wooden doors widened open, with ball lights decorating them. In front of them stand Asteria's guards, dressed in more appropriate wear, though only a fool would think they're not in protective gear.
It's only a camouflage, mostly to make guests more relaxed to join in the castle, when they don't wear their protective leathers or metals.
Walking behind the Royals of Lacuna, I wonder at how the castle has been turned into a completely different scenery than it normally is. I mingle a little behind, to not be up in the Queen's and King's business, but I keep an eye on them nonetheless.
I decided to wait on another person, a person that lives in this castle. Her room is most likely about right over my head.
I have no idea what she is wearing, nor am I good at guessing either.
Only clue I've got is the colour she might be wearing. And that is only because of her asking about my favorite colour.
Hopefully I came prepared in the correct way...
The collar of my shirt seems to tighten around me, making me feel a little anxious, or bothered. By what, I have no idea.
I watch the people in the ballroom, how the different suits and dresses both compliment and insult each other. The varied colours looked good in one corner, but awful in the other.
Though the colours always shift when people move from one side of the room to the other. People talk to each other, asking for dances when the music is quiet but starting. And then there's the ones that are just enjoying each other's company without asking out for a dance.
Even though this is the Winter ball, there is no actual dress code. Only dress up pretty, and usually a hidden code for women, dress up noticeably.
Some do take the latter code very seriously, their gowns big and puffy. Awful to step around and awful to step in.
