My panic was taking over me. I couldn't think of anything other than 'run'. So I did that. I ran inside to get a woolen coat with a hood so I could run out as fast as I could. To help Ascian.

The note read a heart breaking, but shock inducing report.

My heart fell into a dark pit at the last word I read in my head

My heart fell into a dark pit at the last word I read in my head.

I stop at the door and look at the two men standing in the living room, concerned expressions on their faces.

"Party is over. I need to go and help Ascian. He is in trouble." I say.

Jogging out to the stables I within a few minutes put the equipment on Saskia. When I hop on her back, I see Weylyn approaching us on top of his own horse. And Dorian followed with.

"We're coming with you." Dorian says.

"No. You're staying here."

"I will not, if our friend is out there in trouble I sure as hell come with!" He reclaims.

"No Dorian. You go home, I don't want anyone else in a bad situation, go and see if Calian is there and keep yourself safe. I'll get us out. I promise." I give a push with my legs and Saskia starts walking quickly.

"I will not leave you behind!" Dorian tries again.

"I don't want any more blood on my hands!" I exclaim, breathing hard. "Please. For my sake. Go home." I plead.

Dorian stares at me as Weylyn comes beside me hurriedly.

"We have to go, now." Weylyn says.

"Please," I whisper to Dorian.

He looks down, his jaw clenching. "Okay."

"Thank you." And right then both Saskia and Weylyn's horse go into a sprint. Heading towards the burning castle. To the place I've called home for almost 21 years of the 22 that I've lived. The last year not really counting with.

I don't talk to Weylyn at all. Just focused on the task at hand. Get to Asteria without dying and get Ascian out before he is swallowed whole by the flames. I have no idea how bad it is either, so it's hard to know if they've been big or small when Ascian sent that note.
