We'll have a few fancing scenes, hopefully they aren't all too awfully written x.x
Enjoy the chapter!
Every year I've dreaded joining the annual winter ball. Even if I had fun the times I got to eat in peace or got to dance with Kace, there was still the ever presence of Ascian.
Even if it wasn't only him tormenting me, but me also doing the same to him, I always dreaded the places where we had to be in the same room. But still, even those nights we left the diamond alone and only argued, when we really had to. Always trying to steer away from each other those nights.
But this time it's different. This time I wasn't dreading joining the yearly Winter ball. I was excited, and now that I've gotten his consent for a dance, I'm ecstatic. I probably haven't smiled this much in a good while.
A lot has happened this year, a lot has changed, for good and worse, but right this moment? It probably would've never happened if everything else before didn't change.
While I drag Ascian to the dancing music, his laughter follows us, him just as eager as me to dance. And to just live. Freely.
This is what I've been looking for.
And just for this moment, for this person, I can let loose, and stop thinking about anything else than the moment.
Which is a relief. Especially with the bad feeling I've had all night. Maybe it was all nerves...
We get in between the already dancing people and get into the position immediately. My right hand in his left, and my left hand on his shoulder. His right hand is around my waist.
The song is already inching closer to the middle part. Waiting for the right time and rhythm, Ascian then starts leading us with the music's beats.
We're not many steps in before he pushes me into a twirl. He quickly pulls me back and continues leading us, steps and the beats matching.
People around us seem to go farther away from us by each of their steps, making more and more space for us to move in.
Dark oceans look back into melted caramels, the music going through our bodies, not daring to change its flow or to miss one of its perfectly fitted notes.
Nor do we dare to step wrong.
It's a perfect match.
He looks at me with a smirk. I roll my eyes, a small smile creeping up.
I'm about to ask something but he doesn't give me time to ask since he shoves me into a new twirl, my dress flaring after me like fire catching up on a gasoline line.
I shriek suddenly when he catches me unguarded and twirls me back, my back against his chest. But he doesn't let that stop our dancing, since he continues leading us.
