Exasperated, Sabrina huffed as she pulled her arm to roll over only for the action to be halted, her wrist stung by prickles, and she knew once again, she had been restrained in her house, to her, own bed, by a rope courtesy of Draven.

Her eyelids open, her sight falling upon Draven who stood at the window, his reflection pensive.

She assumed he hadn't noticed her wake until he spoke up. “ I need to go out. I need weapons, a car, money” He explained, and she held back a smile that he felt the need to tell her rather leave her without a word. Still, the thought of his departure saddened her had he not added he were taking her along.

“You're leaving us?” She questioned lowly, and he nodded, his thoughts firm, his countenance stoic.

“Are you coming back?” She whispered in question, the thought of him never returning filled her with dread. Yes, she despised him yesterday, but it was only temporary. He just angered and he deserved the slap.

Finally, he turned around, to stare at her. Her eyes dropped to his balled fist as he pressed them into the bed, his gaze hardening. “Sabrina…” He trailed and her lifted to meet his. “I understand we may have a past but do not speak to me with affection”

Her eyebrows furrowed. Oddly, he had told her that yet his voice had been laced with utter affection. It weren't harsh, cruel nor demanding. Instead, it were soft, soothing yet serious. She didn't think he realized it, but she hadn't wanted to point it out. Instead, she questioned” Why?”

He bit his lip in hesitation. Did he want to answer her question? Answer truthfully? Yes, he did, and he couldn't stop himself from doing so. “Well, there's something called an emotional trigger or switch in my brain. It is optional to turn it on or off, not completely, but sometimes it's not so optional”.

She hadn't known what to say to that. Since when did humans have switches or triggers in their brain? Then again, it may have been an effect of the serum. Did he know that, though? She began to answer, until her eyes narrowed, remembering something.

Yesterday he had been the worst to her. Threatened Jr. Yes, he had been truly serious, and she hated it. She couldn't hate him, but she hated what he said, the words that left his mouth. Even his actions as he pinned her to the bed, staring deeply at her even as she cried, but then his grip began to loosened and tighten repeatedly.

Almost like he wasn't sure what he wanted to do. Be gentle, or cold. She found herself asking, “Like yesterday?”

Wherever his eyes roamed, they instantly snapped back to hers, had the revelation shocked him. How did she know that? She had cried, not paid attention.

What would happen if he told the truth? Could the information be used against him? No. Nothing could be used against him. Besides, he deemed her innocent yesterday, or partially. He sighed and nodded, confirming her theory.

“Believe me, I am not a man who are swayed by tears. Normally, I take joy in them, yet yesterday yours made my trigger flip. I-I forced it to turn off and no, I won't explain why, but I can say Sabrina Amana, when you look at me with love, admiration, desire and need, the harder it is to fight it. Trust me when I say this, I do—” He paused.

No, he couldn't say it. That was too much information, and yet, he still continued. “ I want to reciprocate the love swirling in those blue Sapphire eyes. So bad almost that I felt a guilt like no other because I cannot, I do not remember you”.

Her heart constricted, the words like sweet cupid arrows into her. How amusing, he demanded no affection from her, and he couldn't stop himself from giving it in return. How could she not love the man? Yes, he had been very complex, and hard to deal with, he was the same before, but he felt. He felt hard emotions and he fought them. Why? She could understand.
