Chapter 24

Black's POV

After what happened at the arena, The king requested for our private healears to come for the medical treatment of White and Sloth. Ginagamot na sila ngayon samantalang ako nama'y naglalakad na ngayon papunta sa pribadong Library ni ama.

Pagpasok ko'y bumungad sa akin ang dim na paligid, mga hilera ng libro na nakalagay sa mga shelves at sa harapan ng bintana na malapit sa lamesa ay doon nakatayo si ama at nakatanaw sa tanawin na nasa labas. Lumapit ako sa kanya at tumayo sa kanyang tabi. Sabay naming tinanaw ang luntiang kagubatan sa silangang bahagi ng Central kingdom.

"Do you like the view?" I heard him said still not diverting his gaze on the forest.

"Yeah, I do."

"Once you become a king, everything you see around you are your subjects. You should protect them at all cost." hearing this statement from him makes me grin.

"Isn't it the other way around?" I heard him chuckled at my statement.

"A king is not a king without its people, without it's kingdom. I thought you already learned that when you left the Central kingdom and build your own?" nakataas ang kilay na aniya.

Nagkatinginan kaming dalawa. Mariin ko siyang tinitigan at muli akong nagsalita.

"Bago ko itinayo ang kaharian na iyon ay walang-wala ako. Hindi nga rin ako noon kilala bilang prinsipe ng mga taong ngayon ay tapat sa akin. Those people I lead who became part of my kingdom are those abandoned, neglected and unwanted people of our society. Ngayon Ama, ako ay iyong sagutin. Kung totoong ang iyong mga mamamayan ay talagang nasa iyong proteksyon, bakit ang daming alipin? bakit ang daming mahihirap? bakit marami pa rin ang mga mamamayan mong sumasalungat sa iyo? Bakit marami ang nagugutom? Bakit marami ang nagiging Criminal? Sagutin mo ako Ama."

My words left him speechless but I still continued to talk. He needs to hear this! Those people needs his help! As the ruler of this whole continent, he must be responsible for the acts of his people and that will also be my burden when time comes that I will replace his throne.

"Hindi ba't dahil iyon sa mga maharlikang sakim? at wala kayong ginawa kung hindi ang hayaan sila sa kanilang nais. Hindi ba't sakop ng kahariang ito ang buong Continente ng outcast? Ibig sabihin ay sakop rin ng kahariang ito ang apat pang natitirang kaharian! Kung gano'n ay bakit hindi mo ipatigil ang kanilang ginagawa? Bakit....wala kang ginawa?" Mahabang lintanya ko sa kanya na mariin rin na nakatitig sa akin.

"Is that you're goal? The reason why you returned here? You want to become the king of this whole continent for those people? Why?"

A sad smile crept on my face when I remembered why I am fighting.

"It is not just my goal, it's a promise."

Natigilan man sa aking sinambit ay muli siyang nagsalita sa mababang tono, "Subalit alam kong alam mong hindi ka pa rin magiging hari. Wala pang Prinsipeng isinumpa ang naging hari. Maraming sasalungat sa iyo."

Eversince I was cursed, I already know about this. They won't acknowledge me not unless, the curse will be broken. But I'm prepared, because I never left the palace for nothing.

"Trust me. They won't have a choice but to choose me to become their next king." nakangising sabi ko.

He was looking at me with his amused face, "Let's see about that. The Council will arrived here any minute from now. Be prepared."

"I am not prepared by now because I've been already prepared years ago."

The Council members are the Royal families from the five kingdoms of outcast. Mukhang makikita ko na naman ulit ang mga mukha ng mga taong kinasusuklaman ko.

"Tsk. I really hate the nobles and royal families of this continent." mahinang salita ko habang naglalakad papunta sa silid kung saan sila ay nagtitipon.

"Black naman, hanggang ngayon ay wala ka paring pinagbago."

That voice! Damn! here he comes.

Mula sa itaas ay may lalaking bumagsak ng naka squat sa aking harapan. The impact of his landing made a huge crack on the floor and for the windows to break. I stand still on my position while staring at him. His peach color hair was on my sight as he slowly stand and face me with his grinning face.

"Yow! Best friend!"

He is a self proclaimed best friend of mine. He's not even my friend to begin with. Nakakairita siya.

"Huhulaan ko, hindi ka pinayagang sumama pero pumuslit ka lang." nagliwanag ang kanyang mukha nang marinig iyon mula sa akin.

"Waahhhhh! The best ka talaga best friend! Nalalaman mo talaga palagi kung ano ang mga ginawa ko o kung ano ang laman ng utak ko." masiglang aniya at akma sana akong yayakapin ngunit mabilis akong umiwas kaya't napasalampak ito sa sahig, una ang mukha. 
 
Ngumisi ako at nagsimula nang maglakad papunta sa paroroonan ko. That idiot simpleton! Any person with a brain would definitely know what he had done and what's going on inside his mind. Or is it just really me?

Napangisi ako at napailing sa sarili kong iniisip.

"Hey Black! Wait for me! I'm coming with you!" sigaw niya.

Without looking back at him and still walking straight ahead, I shout back, "Then walk faster, Light!"

Inside this closed room with this royal people's in front of me made me feel so suffocated. Just their mere presence makes me irritated.

Nakahilera at naka-upo ang mga hari at Reyna mula sa limang kaharian. Nagtipon sila ngayon dito para pumili nang susunod na magiging hari ng buong outcast.

This is the second part of the kings Selection. Dahil sa nangyari sa laban namin ni Sloth ay napilitan si Amang gawin ang bagay na ito. The kings Selection would have ended on the first part if I didn't lost control and  unconsciously let the Black Curse take over and thus, making this a difficult matter.

"Then it's decided! Sloth will be the next king of the outcast!" Matapos marinig ang salitang iyon mula kay ama ay napuno ng palakpakan ang buong silid.

I've already predicted this to happen. However, this will not go as they planned because this will go according to my plan. Unfortunately for them, I know my brother really well.

I saw the satisfaction on the faces of the council members, not until sloth raised his hand to say something and was acknowledged.

"I.... honestly don't want to be a king." Suminghap ang mga myembro ng council nang marinig ang kanyang sinabi. 

"I am too lazy for the throne. I'm not even interested. Ang totoo ay gusto ko lamang talaga ang mag announce ng marriage arrangement upang mapalabas ang babaeng 'yon pero kahit hibla lamang ng kanyang buhok ay hindi man lang nagpakita sa akin." Mahabang paliwanag niya at mukhang naiirita. His famous bored look was gone and for the second time, I saw him looking so frustrated.

Napangisi ako sa kanya, "I thought, she completely erased your memories?"

I saw him smirk, "the mind can forget but the heart won't Brother."

We grinned at each other, "I am definitely agreeing."
