It was difficult, rushing in all sorts of directions, trying to reach the exit carrying Severus with you until you had remembered a spell that could cast his body to float.
He now trail beside you, the place filled with death eaters. And you shrieked as one caught your ankle, an evil glint in his orange hues.
Green lights everywhere and you ducked, trying so desperately to cover Severus with you, but for some reason his body had fallen unconscious and it only wore your magic out even more.
There was darkness everywhere as the lights were the only source of incoming brightness for your eyes to search for any other threats your way.
"Avada Kedavra!"
Your body was still in shock.
And you had not even noticed the green flare approaching your way.
Not until, you heard muffled screams and somebody had pushed you out the way before you even had the chance to react.
It was petrifying.
You remember hitting the stony ground bellow. Arms and knees aching. Head whirling in all directions. Your vision was blurry and the dark figure that tried to target you was no longer in your reach, yet distant.
Severus's body had also fallen next to yours and you heard his raggedy breaking. At least he was alive, you sigh gently.
But as you turned to glance upwards, your leg felt an icy chill as it touched a body that lay lifeless, ahead of you.
And once your gaze set upon the familiar brunette ruffled hair, every inch of your heart yearned for mercy.
"Don...?"
Body still. Eyes excruciating emblem of fear. For the first time ever, you had felt true reverence.
Losing someone. A loved one.
Where had their body gone? Their soul, their consciousness—no more. Feeling the demons in your head scream in agony, they take over. They take control and they rage.
Red palms, sweaty forehead and blood gushed lips present on his innocence. His pretty pink lips now dull, open and froth slowly had risen and you could not bear to witness the horrific sight.
You had to avenge London.
Your arms reach out to grasp his beautiful, cold, and lifeless body. Gently drag him towards a nearby corner, on the ugly dirty floors. You placed a delicate kiss on his forehead. He was already tainted by the disgusting hands of death eater.
And a few tears blurred your vision but you wipe them roughly.
You slowly but steadily moved Severus away from the catastrophic events surrounding you and place him next to Don.
Feeling your heart shatter as you observe them both in such a miserable state.
"Oh no." A familiar high-pitched voice chuckles behind you and you knew who it was because her ruthlessness was unfathomable.
Bellatrix smirked at the lifeless corpse, and then proceeded to twirl her body. Like a child who had scored a goal, another point. Her arms flail in the air in thrill.
"Oh dear! Your friend has died, what a shame!" She mocked.
You bared your teeth and felt the hatred flow inside your plump veins. The catastrophic flashes replay in your mind like a broken tune. Shock consume you, but it would never hold you frozen forever. And you knew, this was only the beginning to her deadly mantra.
After all, this day was to be expected.
Your hold on London's wand tightens as you bite your lip to prevent tears from escaping.
I'll mourn him with a funeral. Not like this. Not when I'm not in the right mindset.
And whilst she dance with might, not noticing you stealth up behind her—you project the same cold blooded words back at her.
And she didn't even have to react, because the second the green laser aimed at her back, her jaw fell open and she collapsed.
And you heard the footsteps of the death eaters vanish into thin air, knowing your power. Your hands had took down a Lestrange. A figure well known for their immoral nature. Now, gone. And a soulless legend.
A life taken for another life.
Whilst you stand there, trying to control your breathing. It only took one glance to observe London that you finally bursted into tears and wailed out in the open.

When Louise found you, it was underneath Severus's cloak. Covering you, Severus and London. It was all a delusion. You were trying to protect your mind from the harsh realities. As long as they both remained by your side, all was fine.
"Y/N! The dark lord is heading outside—"
And when her trembling hands reached down to reveal your face, she didn't expect to see a distressed one.
"No...no. What the fuck...you see this don't you?!" It took a moment for her to react, she bent down and took London's wrist, searching for a pulse.
For anything.
But it was empty. Like a hollow tree, no matter the amount of knocks, there would be echoes. But his echoes were long gone.
"Don't tell me." She sighed out in defeat. "Please don't tell me anything." Her jittery hands were much more visible now that she observe the whites of London's eyes.
"He's gone." Your voice came out hoarse.
You gently shut them and peck his eyelids one by one. And when you reached over to kiss Severus, his eyes lighten jolt up and your eyes widen.
The potion had increased his mobility and overall health. His eyes now held determination, he stood up, a bit wobbly but quickly, he snatched the wand out of his pocket.
"Where is the dark lord?" He questioned in a sharp, authoritative tone.
"Outside, he's trying to find a way to distract Y/N—"
"You both shall remain here, by your friend. I'll deal with the lord myself." Severus asserted. Louise nodded, quickly. Taking note of the circumstances.
But your breath hitched.
"No! I don't want to lose you too."
Severus turned with a distasteful glint. "Don't think so lowly of me, my dearest winter."
You felt his hand forcefully push you back against the wall. His hand clutched your throat and you groaned.
Louise, confused, tried to interfere but was stopped by Severus's stubborn glare.
"I'll kill you if you follow me." He hissed into your ear.
"Empty threats." You mumbled back, feeling a little hurt by the choice of his words. His tone harsh, and you only wanted love during this tragic moment of losing a loved one.
"I've hurt you enough." His silky voice penetrated your eardrums and you gulped, feeling his calloused hands redden your neck.
Without another word, his body drown into a black fabric and he flew out of sight. He had his strange methods. But he wanted to protect you.
Immediately, you went over to hold London in your arms.
"Are you alright?!" The familiar blonde haired man came dashing toward you, furrowed brows and restless thumbs.
But he was stopped by Louise who pointed her wand right up his Adam's apple.
"Not another step further. Malfoy."
He obeyed and stood still. His face portray anguish, and he watched in a dejected posture. You lightly ruffled London's hair, waiting for Severus to come back and to prepare London's body for the after life.
You hadn't even acknowledged Draco's presence. Too focused on Don's stoic face, who was free from worry.
"I miss you already."
