Professor Remus Lupin had slipped a folded note over to Severus, holding it by his index and middle fingers. He had tried to pass it to Severus, in a discreet momentum. But, you had seen it.
However, you didn't know what was written on that parchment. A secret, you assumed.
"Dumbledore requested that you make this concoction for me—although if you find the retrieval process to be difficult, I can find the ingredients myself." Remus negotiated with a slight smile, whilst you shifted uncomfortably at the back. Not knowing how to act whilst feeling the aftereffects of the flourishing butterflies in your stomach.
"I would find it more appealing if you'd stay out of my way, Lupin." Snape shot a glare at him.
You chewed on your lip, finding it quite awkward that Severus wasn't even trying to pretend like Remus was welcomed here.
"Ahh. I see. Well, you have important matters to attend to, I'll leave you on it. See you later, Severus." He gave a brief nod before his eyes hooked onto yours. "You too, what was your name?"
But before you could speak, Severus had cut him off.
"I don't understand how asking a student their name is of any concern to you, Remus? Or perhaps, you're trying to fit in with the youth." Severus grumbled.
At this you rolled your eyes.
He's only being nice. What history does Severus have with him anyways?
"Nothing of such sorts! Ha, you're as hilarious as I remember Severus. I've glanced at the student roll and was wondering if she was part of it. Nothing else." He winked, opening the doorknob with his non-dominant hand. "Well. Nice meeting you both. But I better head off to prepare for dark arts tomorrow."
Your eyes widened with a tinge bit of curiosity. Folding your arms over one another, you cleared your throat.
"Excuse me Professor, before you go, I have a question for you." You stepped forward. Severus's head sharply turned to yours, curious as to what you wanted to say.
"Fire away." Remus smiled, standing idle.
"Will you be teaching dark arts for the sixth year?"
"Well, of course I am." He offered a polite grin.
Severus groaned in irritation. "Off now." He personally strut up toward the door, cape billowing behind, as he opened it for Remus.
Remus chuckled at his stubborn behaviour, then he waved goodbye. You stood still as the door clicked and shut.
Severus dashed towards you in such a speed that would've tumbled you over, if not for his desk supporting you from behind.
You gasped as his calloused hands gripped your thigh in contemplation. His hot hand leaving you to melt against him.
His dark gaze met yours. "Want to continue?" He asked with a soft tone.
You held back laughter, whilst he stood in front of you with a blank expression. Confusion distorted his senses as he took in your image.
"What is it?" He questioned you with narrowed eyes.
"Nothing...it's just, I rather not try anything more in a classroom." You shrugged your shoulders. He raised an eyebrow and lifted a finger. Gently caressing your neck again. His personality had switched up so fast when Remus had left. It left you feeling some sort of intrigue for him, yet again.
