Your grip around your books tightened. Turning around to face the man who had been recklessly shaming you in front of everyone and punishing you on your first days back at Hogwarts.

"Yes Sir?" You huff out. You already knew why he had told you to stay back, but it was best you heard him say it. The door behind you shut forcefully by the use of his magic, your breath now stuck in your throat.

"Today you were rather disruptive in my class..." he roamed around the room. Fixing chairs and tables before his eyes laid upon you. "I have never observed that kind of irrational behavior by you before."

His eyes gazed at your pin.

"You have lowered my expectations."

The prefect badge.

"Such a shame you are a prefect. I do not know why Dumbledore endorsed you when I refused to have you as the prefect of my house. I believe you are not fitting enough for the cause."

Your breath hitched again. Eyes shutting you flutter them open and inhale and exhale softly before speaking. "I know that I've made questionable choices Sir...but believe me I know that being a prefect is a tough job but Dumbledore had faith in me, when nobody did. I know I was in the wrong...I shouldn't have been so careless with everything." You said.

Eyeing him worriedly. He stood there staring into your eyes.

"I am sorry that I showed up late, disrupted your class and wasn't living up to your standards..." you gulped.

The room was silent. Once again due to his overwhelming presence.

"You can take my prefect badge away. I don't deserve it. I feel like I can't represent myself anyways." You had oddly felt as if you vented out all your emotions. Heck being vulnerable was a big no-no.

Confused as to why he hadn't spoken up, you look up to see his face flicker with change.

So he was listening to my blabbering? Why didn't he stop me?

You raised an eyebrow.

"I accept your apology Miss L/N. Unfortunately I cannot take away your prefect badge without discussing it with the other head masters. So keep it...for now." He said firmly.

You nodded. "May I leave, Professor?" You ask.

He shook his head. "Not so fast Miss L/N. I in fact have a task for you to fulfill. Detention will be in this classroom at 6:00 pm and so will tomorrow."

You nodded immediately.

"Do not arrive late."

At least he did not ask me for my essay.

"Of course Sir." You responded.

He walked over to you. "I want you to sort the ingredients in the cabinet...for tomorrow's lesson." He said, you could tell he was much more calm now.

He leaned against the wall as he watched you make your way over towards the cabinets. You had placed your bag onto one of the wooden desks at the front. It was lunch time but he probably wanted to watch you starve. Like a slave.

You eyed the ingredients, trying your best to ignore his intimidating presence and piercing gaze. It was always troubling when someone would watch you do specific tasks, because you would almost always become clumsy.

Grabbing a familiar piece of ingredient, something told you that the potion would be super strong.

Your eyes widened.

"Are we making Amortentia tomorrow?" You turn around to face him.

He simply nodded. "Do you seem to have a problem with my selections?" He asked.
