As your legs dangled off the crescent shape concrete, you found yourself lost in your thoughts. You were perched, perfectly still on top of an elevated stone wall at one of Hogwarts prestigious towers, feasting your eyes upon the morning sun. A rare spot to be in, especially with no safety repercussions. Like a game of hide and seek, it hid behind fluffy dull clouds. In your vision, you sneak a peek in, viewing its half form, its light blinding you, but you allow it to shine as you wait patiently for Severus.
You squint your eyes in anticipation of the burning from the suns rays, but the fireball sails out of sight, invisible, hiding behind marshmallow looking clouds again.
Grey swirls painted the sky now, it was a restless image as the wind was howling, a few orange leaves that could be crushed by a single touch, followed the gentle windy waves of the last days of Autumn.
The scenery drastic from the bright blue from earlier. You could practically sense the rain from a mile away. The wind spray fresh dew on your skin, your olfactory perception picking upon salt water from the nearby enormous lake, you had figured.
The pure droplets seethe your teguments and you feel tranquility enfold your deepest layers by each passing irregular drip.
You were, calm. Strangely enough.
Perhaps I should keep my guard up.
The weather could not be trusted because of its abnormal changes—whose to say, people can't be the same?
We all come from nature, therefore, abide by the rules and one day, it could cost me my life.
Your hands rest by the sides of your body, holding onto the edge, tightly. Flushed cheeks resembling ruby rose petals as you think about Severus's warmth.
Oh, how lucky you had been.
Although I have him by my side, my heart still cracks when I am no longer joined by my old friends.
But...life is unfair. You're right, Severus.
You're right in many things.
You're the only one keeping me away from the evil shadows of the dark.
Except, when your eyes caught glance of the black ugly mark located on the innocence of your wrist, you shut your eyes hastily. Ridding your mind of delight. All your traumas gripping your psyche as you whip out your wand, directing it above the sky—to nowhere particular.
"Accio...parchment." You whisper out, once again from yesterdays rulings. Distracting yourself with other subtle problems in your life. Wand steadily clasped in your hand. Performing a simple tilt of the wand. The tinge of hope vanishes when nothing flies out towards you.
Perhaps that was how you felt inside, clueless, lost in your surroundings. Yet, put up a defence because it was best that you could do.
"I believe it is best for you to climb down from there."
His deep voice vibrated all the way, down to your core. Even if he was a few meters away. You carefully tuck your wand away in your emerald robes, inhaling the earthy smell.
"You're done?" You ask, eyes scanning the ground from above. Now that you stare, it was petrifying. Normally, the green grass was a pretty picture in your mind, but the thought of plummeting on nature towards your death, only caused you to crease your eyebrows in worry.
Severus does not reply, but you hear his footsteps echoing the silent, timeless area. His arms extend, from behind you, circling your waist and tugging you backwards, you let out a gasp out of fear of falling. Clutching onto his forearms from your back for safety.
