I was currently wandering the school grounds.
Classes were over and kids were scattered in different areas, some were on the benches, some sitting under trees, some were climbing the trees, some were playing football, and others were just walking around.
"Watch out!" Someone shouted. I immediately put my hands up, which caused a dark greenish gray haze around me.
A football bounced off the force field.
I quickly put my hands down and bit my bottom lip, watching as a boy jogged to get the ball.
"That was cool." He smiled.
I nodded once and smiled back.
"I don't think I've seen you around here before. You new?"
I nodded again.
"What's your name?"
"Embry-Lynn. But you can just call me Embry."
"I'm Bobby." He held his hand out for me.
"Nice to meet you." I pretended to not see his hand stretched out to me so I wouldn't have to shake it and potentially hurt him.
"You comin' back, Drake!" One of the other boys shouted. "Or are ya gonna flirt with the girl?"
"I think I'm gonna flirt with her!" Bobby threw the football back before turning to me. "Wanna walk?"
"Sure." I blushed from his previous reply to the boy and began to walk with him.
"So what's your mutation? Force fields?"
"I wish it was that easy." I huffed a little. "That mutation comes out on rare occasion and never when I really need it."
"So you have more than one mutation?"
"Yeah. But my other one... I'd rather not talk about." I crossed my arms under my breasts and shook my head.
"That's okay. Do you want to see mine?"
"If you're comfortable with it." I shrugged.
"Iceman." He winked to me just as his whole body turned to ice.
"That's so cool!" My eyes widened as I clapped my hands for him.
"Thanks. But you should see Peter's mutation. He turns to steel."
"That has to be so..." I couldn't think of the right word for a few seconds... "Nice."
"Nice?" Bobby repeated as he furrowed his eyebrows at me.
"My other mutation is dangerous... I don't like it. But if I turned to ice or steel... it would be so much better than what I do do."
There was a few minutes of uncomfortable silence before Bobby spoke.
"You said do do."
I couldn't help but laugh at him.
"How old are you?" I asked sarcastically as I brushed my hair back.
"How long have you been here?"
"I came in last night with my brother."
"Who's your brother?"
"Remy LeBeau."
"No way!" Bobby stopped walking and turned to face me. "LeBeau doesn't have a sister."
"We aren't blood related but he's like my brother."
"So you're the reason half the X-Men are going to find that Victor Creed?"
