"Damn it!" I growled, jerking and pulling at the restraints holding my wrists to the table. They were leather, which I easily burned through with my mutation.
Victor let out a cold chuckle but didn't make any sort of move to stop me.
I kept flickering my eyes back and forth from the restraints to him as I pulled and yanked against the leather while using my cursed mutation. This was one of the few times it was useful.
"Go ahead and try to run, sweetheart. You won't get very far."
"Shut up." I sat up once my hands were free and then began to do the same to my ankles.
It wasn't until probably the twentieth time I glanced to Victor that I noticed the blood on his hands.
I froze and felt my chest tighten. Who's blood was it?
The corners of his lips turned up and he chuckled from deep in within his throat.
"What, Embry-Lynn? Scared of a little blood?" He started to take a few steps towards me, but I continued to try to release myself from the leather bondings, just a little more franticly this time.
I broke the last one just as Victor got to the side of the table and I jumped down from the freezing cold steel.
I landed on my feet, but from being hit in the back of the head so hard, everything began to spin and I lost my balance. My body came into contact with hard, ice cold flooring.
"Victor? Mr. Stryker would like to see you." Someone spoke from somewhere in the room.
When I opened my eyes, I saw double of a figure in the doorway. I rubbed my eyes and tried to hold back the urge to vomit.
"I'll be back later, sweetheart."
I could hear Victor's heavy footsteps fade away and then the loud, jarring slam of a door close.
I stayed there for a moment, allowing the room to return to it's normal way so I didn't see any double lighting fixtures or a double of the table or a double of the door.
I took my time to sit up, trying to think of where the hell I could be.
The person had mentioned Stryker. Oh shit. I couldn't be back on Three Mile Island.
Panic set in and I pushed myself to my feet.
The layout of the room was utterly simple. There was the table I had been on, the door, and a window.
I went for the window and looked down. It was a straight drop down and I didn't even want to know how many stories up I was.
"Shit." I cursed and moved for the door. It was locked— of course— but that didn't stop me from trying to get the hell out. I was not about to stay in here if I could get out. Last time I was here....
With my heart racing, I put my hand next to the door knob on the door and concentrated on my mutation. I had never done something like this before. I had never tried to make my mutation work without being scared senseless.
After what felt like hours, my hand finally went through the steel and I broke through the barrier. One step closer to getting out!
I squeezed my hand through and twisted the door knob. It was unlocked from the outside and I was able to push the heavy door open.

Sneaking through the facility was a lot harder, especially since I didn't have Remy to help me like I did all this years ago.
While looking for an exit, I stumbled upon a room containing Logan.
He was covered in blood, beaten, battered, and bruised. It didn't even look like he was alive. But I could just barely see his shoulders moving.
The door was a large, heavy one that looked like it could withstand a nuclear bomb. I used my mutation on the handle and checked to see if it would open. It didn't at first, but it slid open with a few heavy pushes on my behalf.
"Logan!" I whispered as I rushed to him. He was in the center on the room on his knees. His wrists were chained to the floor, something that seemed pointless with what I've seen him fight through. "Logan? Are you okay?" I cupped his face and made him look at me.
"Embry?"
"Yeah, hun. I'm right here." I nodded my head, wiping the blood from his cheek with the sleeve of my shirt. "What happened?"
"I got the shit beat outta me." He rasped. "They just left."
"We got to get out of here."
Logan took a moment and then spit out a bunch of blood.
"Where are we?"
"Three Mile Island." I put my hand on the chains he was attached to and focused on disintegrating them. But my mutation didn't work. "What?" I crinkled my brows together and tried again, squeezing the metal as hard as I could. However, I got the same reaction. "It-It worked earlier."
"I can get it. Just give me a moment. I literally just came back from being dead." Logan got an attitude with me quickly.
"You look so bad." I spoke gently as I continued to do what I could with cleaning to blood from his bruised face.
Slowly, the bruises were healing and turning from dark purple to a faint yellow and then disappearing completely.
I watched in awe for a few minutes as Logan's mutation did it's thing in healing his body.
"Get back." Logan got to his feet so he was in a crouching position.
I took a few steps back and watched as his claws came out and he easily cut through the chains.
"Come on." He put his arm around my waist and guided me out of the room. "Did anything happen to you?"
"No." I shook my head and fell silent as he started to slip through the halls.
"Not so fast, love birds." Victor's dark voice stopped us in our tracks. He was somewhere behind us.
"Keep going." Logan told me, pushing me further on ahead of him while he stopped.
"No! I'm not leaving you." I shook my head.
"Go, Embry!"
"Someone's gotta fight me." Victor shrugged his broad shoulders.
Okay I know I haven't updated in a while but I've had major writer's block for this story and I know I suck!!!!
But I got it fixed!!! I think! Lol
I think this story is coming to an end. I'm not sure how many more chapters there will be but we are nearing the end of this journey my friends!!! Maybe to chapter 40???
