I listened to Logan's steady breathing. I was laying in the bed with Logan's head on my chest, his left arm draped across my stomach and curled back underneath my back, holding my close.
I ran my fingers through his hair, watching his face as he slept. He looked so peaceful. I smiled softly but that soon faded as he started twitching in his sleep.
"Logan?" I whispered, brushing my thumb over his cheek. "Logan, wake up-" I was cut off when he pushed himself up, letting me go all together.
The feeling of something sharp cutting my arm made me scream quickly and pull away.
"Embry? Embry, what's wrong?" Logan panicked immediately, sitting back so he could pull me into a sitting position.
"Nothing, Logan." I gave him a smile. I didn't want him to find out he had hurt me. "I'm just..." I couldn't even think of anything.
His eyes trailed from my face down to my arm, where it was cut.
"What happened?" He took my wrist in hand and pulled my arm so he could get a closer look. "Shit, Embry-Lynn." Logan jumped up and went to the bathroom. He quickly returned with a damp washcloth.
"It's okay, Logan. I'll be fine."
He didn't say anything as he gently wiped the blood from my arm.
The silence was killing me. I didn't like the silence. It was always terrible.
"Logan. Please say something." I urged, clasping his wrist in hand.
"I'm so sorry, baby girl." Logan kissed my forehead, his hand on my back of my neck to keep me close. His thumb ran circles on my skin.
"I'm fine, Logan." I shook my head, moving to kiss his lips. "You were having a nightmare?"
"It doesn't matter." He shook his head, moving to turn away from me and sit on the edge of the bed.
I crawled up behind him and wrapped my legs around his waist and my arms around his torso since he was too tall for me to wrap my arms over his shoulders.
"Everyone has nightmares, Logan."
"I don't like talking about mine."
"Okay." I pressed my cheek to his back and closed my eyes.
"We should probably get ready to leave." Logan took his phone out and checked the time. "It's three in the morning so let's get going."
"Okay. Can I get a shower before we do?"
"Yeah. I'll get one after you."

I changed into a pair of leggings and a hoodie after a shower. My hair was left down to naturally dry.
I was currently helping by taking our bags out to the truck while Logan made a call to someone and smoked a cigar, which I wasn't fond of.
It was pitch black outside, well minus the street lamps. I grunted as I lifted my heavy bag into the cab of the truck. I thought I had put it far enough into the truck but it started to fall back out. A hand suddenly reached out and grabbed it.
"You're accident prone, aren't you?" Logan spoke with the cigar in his mouth.
"I don't even know why that thing's as heavy as it is." I smiled softly under his gaze as he looked down at me. "And I'm not muscly like you."
He chuckled and stepped away from me to blow the smoke out of his mouth.
"Why do you do that?"
