Evelyn's POV

"How did you become the Don Mr. Ricci?" Kim asks as we drive to work. Once again, she hijacked my seat.
"I'm putting you in a hotel tonight. It's fully paid, and you can stay there for as long as you need." He ignores her question. I smile and stifle a laugh.
"You're very kind Mr. Ricci. Thank you." She bats her eyelashes.
He pays almost zero attention to her and it's hilarious that she doesn't get the hint.
When we pull up to think building, Kim wraps her arm around Dimitri's and walks with him into the elevator with me following close behind.
I can tell he doesn't want her touching him, his jaw ticks in anger as she clings to him. I wonder why he isn't saying anything. I'd push her off of me quicker than I'd kill a spider on my arm.
The bell of our floor being reached makes the doors open. Kim is the first to sway her small hips out, I begin to follow her until a hand grabs my arm and gently pulls me back in.
"Non dimenticarti di me piccola. I'll be expecting you by one." Dimitri curls my hair in between his fingers. Don't swoon Evelyn, he's not even hot. Maybe if I tell myself that he's not hot a million times, my brain will actually believe it.
{Don't forget about me baby.}
With doe eyes, I walk off the elevator without saying a word. His tall frame is more intimidating while he's in a suit and in his workplace where he radiates full raw power.
"Did he say anything about me?" Kim rushes up to me.
"Actually, yeah. He wants to see you on your lunch break." I hold in my laugh.
I rather see Mark. Mark is someone that my mother would be proud of, and he's not my stepbrother. It's a win, win situation.
"Oh, Raeni! Come here." I flag her down as soon as she walks in. Her smile is so contagious that I smile automatically.
"You're excused." I look at Kim who still hasn't left.
She rolls her eyes and knocks over my bottle of water as she turns to walk away.
After picking the bottle off the floor, I turn to Raeni and tell her about her going up to see Dimitri at lunch. As I laugh, all the blood rushes out of her face.
"Evelyn, you have to fix this, he didn't ask for her. He's going to get angry."
"The worst he would do is throw her out of his office." I shrug.
Raeni shakes her head. "He can and will do much worse if he wanted."
I thought she would appreciate my little prank, but instead it seems like I've triggered some anxiety.
"Tell her you misunderstood him. That he asked for somebody else instead. She might get upset but, I'm sure you could tell, she's blinded by him." She explains.
