Evelyn already lost her mother; how could it get any worse? At least that's what she thought. She's forced to move in with her estranged father where she also meets her stepmother and stepbrother. Evelyn knew what she needed to do, and that's gettin...
Abiditory (n) A place into which you can disappear, a hiding place.
Evelyn's POV
Over an hour away? I can't drive that every day.
"I guess I'll keep looking then." I run my fingers through my hair in frustration.
"Actually, he offered to let you stay at his place. It's a lot closer than it would be if you lived here." My dad says.
Live with him? No...
"No, that's okay. I don't want to intrude." I say in the nicest way possible.
"Oh nonsense, I talked to him too. I told him I would talk you into it." Charlotte smiles.
Why the hell did you have to step in?
This feels an awful lot like being kicked out. Fuck it.
"Alright." I roll my eyes.
A week and a half here and I've already overstayed my welcome. I should've known I wouldn't be staying here long.
"I guess I'll go get my stuff together then." I leave before anyone can say anything.
I should've just stayed home. I might've ended up homeless but that's better than being kicked out by the only family you have left.
A rogue tear rolls down my cheek.
Quickly flicking it away I shove my belongings into my bags. This is ridiculous, haven't I been through enough? Now I'm being traded off to my stepbrother because I can't get a job here?
I throw my bags at my door, and they thump on the floor.
Throwing myself on the bed I let my tears escape.
I let the sleepiness within me take over.
Waking up the next morning I throw on a simple outfit. A dark grey quarter sleeve shirt and white jeans.

Taking a deep breathe I close the door behind me for the last time and schedule myself an Uber.
"Damn..." I huff. I don't know the address.
"Good morning!" Charlotte's voice makes me jump.
"Oh, hi." I try to play it cool.
"You're leaving already?"
I mean, my bags are in my hands so does it look like I'm staying?
"Yeah, I just don't know the address for the Uber." I admit.
She takes my phone out of my hand and before I raised my hand to knock her out, she speaks up.
