Evelyn's POV
Today is finally the day! We are finally going home! Dimitri has to use crutches since he can't freely stand on his leg yet, but he's being a trooper. The doctor wanted him to stay a few more days but he flat out refused.
"I didn't know you could drive." Dimitri grunts as the crutches dig into his armpits.
"I don't like to, but I promise I didn't damage the car." I laugh.
He walks towards the drivers seat, causing me to jump in front of him. "No, I drive." I point to the passenger seat.
Dimitri smirks but listens.
On the way home we listen to upbeat music, it's chilly outside so the windows stay rolled up but the sun makes the car comfortably warm.
"Who did this to you? I know it's someone we know, it has to be." I ask remembering my thoughts from when Dimitri was still asleep.
He shifts uncomfortably in his seat before a long sigh tumbles from his mouth. "Antonio." He bluntly states.
My head snaps in his direction. No fucking way...
"Eyes on the road Eve, please don't kill me." He points towards the road, gaining my attention.
How could Antonio do this? Why did he come back?
"He said to meet him somewhere when you woke up. A cabin, he said you'd know." I explain.
Dimitri nods. "I'll visit once I can walk on my own." He whispers.
After scaring Dimitri half to death a few times by my amazing driving skills, we pull into the driveway and walk into the house.
Dimitri gasps, making me jump. Is someone here? I scan the interior, noticing the mess I left behind while rummaging for a set of keys.
"What the hell happened here?" He walks further into the room.
I feel my face redden with embarrassment. Damn it! I forgot I made such a mess. "I'm sorry I-it was me. I needed to find a pair of keys and I was going crazy and I thought you were dead." I quickly defend my actions.
A small smile paints his face as he looks at my red cheeks.
"I promise I'll clean it." I continue to ramble.
"No, I'll have someone come and clean it." He says as he walks closer to me.
My feet scoot back until my heels hit the front door.
"I've brushed my teeth, taken a shower, shaved, and fixed my hair but still no kiss as I was promised. What am I going to do with you, piccola?" His minty breath wafts to my nose, telling me that he did in fact do everything he said he did. It was obvious that he did everything else. I've been trying to not check him out since this morning.
Standing on my toes, I quickly kiss his cheek.
"That's cruel piccola. But I'll take it for now." His smirk is dangerous.
What does he mean by 'for now'? Not going to lie, the thought of 'for now' has me wanting more in this exact moment.
"I see you find that intriguing." Dimitri chuckles.
"What? N-no!" I defend after he snaps me out of my sinful thoughts. I was under the impression that what we did was a one time thing. I don't think we ever talked about what happened between us.
