Dimitri's POV

My palms sweat the whole time we're on my plane. Will she be happy? Will she be upset that I bought it without asking her? Is she going to be upset that she didn't get to buy it herself?

"Are you okay?" She sweetly asks.

"Of course, piccola. Just an hour left; then we'll be on the ground." I smile.

She let slip last night that she loved me. I couldn't help but just kiss the fuck out of her. I sensed that she didn't exactly mean to say it in that moment, so I let it slide. But I love her, I'm in love with her.

Right now she's right next to me on the couch in my plane. She looks so beautiful in her maroon sweater and dark washed blue jeans, the black heals she's wearing are driving me crazy. Even her hair is picture perfect right now.

She somehow wakes up and radiates beauty.

"You look beautiful today." I compliment. A small blush runs across her cheeks.

"Do I not look beautiful other days?" Her eyebrow jokingly raises.

I nudge her arm playfully, "don't pull that shit on me."

She laughs. Her laugh makes...makes my heart happy. That's the only way I can describe the feeling. She makes my dark, lonely heart happy.

The hour rolls by quick and the plane lands on the tarmac.

I take her hand in mine and run my thumbs across her knuckles. So soft.

I lead her to the taxi. I didn't bother renting a car because we won't be able to stay long. A couple of hours at most.

Luckily, it seems like she doesn't recognize where she is. So far, at least.

I know once we get closer to her old home, everything will click.

Ten minutes into the ride, it looks like Eve is starting to see things she remembers.

"Dimitri?" She calls out to me.

I hum, waiting for what she's about to say.

"Are we where I think we are?" She looks around.

"Where might that be, piccola?"

"Nothing, I think I might just be going crazy." She scratches the back of her head.

I conceal a laugh so I don't seem suspicious.

A couple more minutes later, she turns towards me with her jaw dropped.

We're turning down her old road now. Her house is right around the corner.

"Why are we here?" She asks.

I shrug and feel some bumps as we pull into the driveway.

Quickly jumping out the car, I run to Eve's side to help her out.

She looks around, she's reminiscing this place. I hope this makes her happy.

I pull her hand gently towards the door and she slowly follows behind me.

I reach into my back pocket and pull out the small metal key that unlocks the front door.

Like she's in a trance, she takes it. Her hand shakes as she unlocks the door but once she gets inside, I see tears welt up in her eyes.

"Piccola?" Is she okay?

She continues to walk forward and I follow her.

I'm met with silence.
