Evelyn's POV

The night drags on. It's honestly so hard to fall asleep because every time I close my eyes, I get flashbacks of what I did.

"Dimitri." I gently nudge his sleeping body.

"Dimi-"

His body shoots up in panic. "What is it? Are you alright?" He mumbles, probably still half asleep.

"I can't sleep." I admit.

His eyes open to reveal a much bluer iris' than usual. "Come here, piccola." He pulls me close to him and snuggles with me.

"Dimitri?"

"Hmm?" He hums in response.

"You promise I'm not a terrible person?" I ask.

His hand comes into my view with his pinky extended.

I giggle and take his pinky in mine to seal the promise. "Thank you." I yawn.

"Close your eyes, piccola. I'm right here, I'll keep you safe." He says then kisses the back of my head.

The morning comes around quickly. I'm surprised I got a few hours of sleep without nightmares. It must be because I fell asleep in Dimitri's arms.

"Here, I packed this for you to wear today. Something comfortable for the plane." Dimitri hands me one of his shirts and my pink sweatpants. I happily take the clothing and put it on.

His shirt smells just like him. I love it!

When I walk out of the room, Dimitri hands me a cinnamon roll with a glass of milk with a toothy smile.

"Thank you!" I happily take the food and milk and sit out the couch.

"We have to leave in about twenty minutes so eat as much as you can because we have about a whole day on the plane."

My eyes basically pop out of my skull. A whole day? On a plane? The most time I've spent on a plane was a few hours!

"Well we're going to a place called Perth so technically it'll be about Twenty three hours."

I choke on my milk. "How the fuck is this going to happen?" I ask, dumbfounded.

He chuckles, "well, we will have two layovers so the plane can fuel up, then once we get there we're going to be in a car for another two hours until we're at the safe-house." He explains.

My head spins with how long we will be traveling. Basically we will be on the move for at least Twenty-five hours on the move.

"Oh, you haven't been on a private plane before, have you?" He asks.

Of course he has a private plane. I roll my eyes at his richness.

"A private plane shouldn't be that different from a regular plane." I comment.

He smiles and shakes his head. "You'll see how much better it is."

The rest of my breakfast was eaten in silence. He scrolled on his phone while I gobbled the cinnamon roll and guzzled the milk.

We are driven to an airport and I'm met with a large, lone plane. The big white air vehicle has big blue lettering that says 'Phantom' on the side. Why do we need such a big plane for the two of us? I get that he bought it himself but jeez.
