Fu Jingwen insisted to walk Lisa into the elevator. At this hour, everyone in the building was working in their respective offices, so it was just the three of them in the elevator.
"President Fu, I hope you can think about what Jennie said about You Weiwen and Zhu Jingjing." It was extremely quiet in the elevator that only breathing sounds were heard. Fu Jingwen felt anxious. He suddenly heard Lisa's cold and flat voice, it was the complete opposite of the tone he used to speak to Jennie.
Fu Jingwen was startled. Before he could respond, Lisa faintly smiled, the corners of his mouth curled upwards into a smirk, "Jennie is my girlfriend."
Fu Jingwen was in complete shock, he suddenly felt that the whole world was against him. His brother-in-law and his employees set him up!
"When I was in the office, I was looking at it from a business and management perspective. Now, I'm talking from a personal point of view and I don't wish to see my girlfriend being mistreated," Lisa said coldly.
Fu Jingwen could sense that Lisa was displeased about his attitude back in the office just now. He suddenly felt unbearably hot, his shirt that was beneath his blazer was already drenched in sweat without him being aware of it.
Zuo Qiu handed him a thick envelope, "Here's all the evidence of Zhu Jingjing sleeping with your company's business clients."
Sweat was dripping down from Fu Jingwen's forehead, he felt something weighing on him when he received the envelope, "Master Manoban, rest assured that I'll handle this matter seriously."
...
Jennie did not have a lot of things on her desk. After all, she started her internship in this company not long ago, and she was also not someone who liked to place a lot of personal items on her working desk. Therefore, she could fit everything easily into her bag.
She did not see Fu Jingwen when she left the office, so she did not know what Fu Jingwen was going to do with You Weiwen and Zhu Jingjing.
She was jobless now but she felt relieved walking out of the office. Her mood was immediately lifted.
She walked out from the building and her moving feet came to a sudden halt. She saw a familiar black Grand Cherokee stopped on the side of the road. It was directly facing the entrance, so it was hard for her to pretend not to see it.
Lisa was leaning on the car door lazily. He wore a fitting well-ironed suit, it seemed like he had it tailored-made. Unlike the other day, today he was wearing a pair of brogue shoes and there was a tinge of playfulness about it.
His casual posture by the car door made his legs looked longer. Both of his hands were in the pockets of his trousers, and he looked stern like he had a no entry sign on his face. He looked like he was shooting for a magazine cover without even trying.
Jennie did not want to take it wrongly and assumed that he was waiting for her, but she could not think of any other reason why he had not left.
When she appeared in front of the doorway, his gaze fell firmly on her, she could not hide even if she tried.
He remained his posture and said nothing. He only stared at her with his dark eyes, his vision fixated on her face.
Jennie had no choice but to walk over, standing about one step away from him and greeted, "Master Manoban."
She looked down slightly as she was afraid to look at him in his eyes, not noticing that his gaze was growing fonder.
She took the time to tidy herself up in the washroom before she came out. A gentle breeze blew at her long soft hair, and a few strands flew about with some lingering on her fair face.
Spring water flow and spring woods grow, yet even the spring's warm breeze could never compare to you.
Lisa silently recited this poem. His dark eyes were gentle and smiling, like stars in the skies. They were bright even under the sunlight.
He suddenly stood straight up. His height was evident as Jennie could only see his chest at this point. She held her breath as she watched him get closer.
As his perfectly structured fingers lifted and brushed against her lips and nose, it was like she could smell the light, cool fragrance of pine from when she was at Hotel Sheng Yue last night.
Jennie's mind went blank for a moment until his fingertips touched her face, and it was like a sudden surge of current was running through her. Her face blushed red and instinctively lifted her head to look at him. The expression on his handsome face did not change. His fingers were fiddling her strands of hair that the wind had blown across her face. They lightly brushed against her skin, it was a little ticklish and a little tingling, but she dared not lift her hands to touch her face.
It was when his fingertips brushed across her ears that she had suddenly felt a strong tingling sensation. The sun that was shining on her ears had seemed to maximize the heat above her head.
Jennie came to her senses, feeling so uneasy that she wanted to hide but ended feeling a sharp pain on her face. His fingertips had brushed the wound on her cheek.
She could not stop herself from moaning out in pain and saw Lisa frowned.
"I saw her hit your head too, where did she hit you exactly," Lisa frowned as he asked.
"It's nothing," Jennie replied and almost immediately wished she had pinched herself hard.
Her voice sounded like it was stuck in her throat, weak and pretentious, she desperately wished that it did not belong to her.
Even if she did not say anything, Lisa's fingers had already moved upwards to find out for himself. At first touch, he had already felt an obvious bump on her head. Jennie winced from the pain and tried to move away.
"I'm taking you to the hospital," Lisa said coldly.
Jennie felt indistinct anger from him but yet was incredulous that it could happen, so she immediately dismissed the thought and said, "There is no need to. It's just a minor wound, I'll just wait for the swell to subside."
Lisa looked at her coldly and was silent for a moment before saying, "I came here specifically to take you to the hospital. If you are refusing to go, won't that be wasting my time waiting here? Is my time that invaluable?"
Jennie was dumbfounded. "Master Manoban, do you need to return to your office to work? If you're that busy, you really don't need to bother yourself with me."
"Then what are we going to do about the time I used waiting for you? I don't do things that yield no results," Lisa's hands left the swell on her head and went back into his pockets.
His pose looked cool and striking, yet how was it that he sounded like a hooligan?
She could see that Lisa was not going to leave unless she agreed, it seemed that he was also not about to let her leave just like that. The two of them could not be having a Mexican standoff at the side of the road, especially since Lisa was so attractive. Jennie had no choice but to nod her head in agreement.
It was like she was still in shock from last night. The moment Jennie sat in the car, she immediately buckled her belt. The entire process was so fast that Lisa did not quite know what to make of it.
