Lisa was shocked at these words. If the doctor was not a woman, he would have grabbed her by the collar.

"Why would she need a blood test? Why is it so serious? What's wrong with her?" Lisa's eyes were red, making him look like he was ready to murder someone.

Even if she knew who Lisa was, and even if the security team at Moon Tian hospital was adequately trained, the doctor could not help feeling a little afraid at the moment.

"You don't need to be so agitated, it's just a normal check-up," the doctor had a good guess about what it was, but the principles of her profession did not allow her to reveal this guess to the patient without any evidence. What if she was wrong?

"Is a blood test part of a normal check-up? Tell me honestly, is there something wrong with her?" Lisa glared at the doctor.

Lisa could not help letting his imagination run wild. He kept thinking about the disease that Jennie could have contracted. Could it be cancer or something else? Late-stage stomach cancer patients were always throwing up such that one would normally mistake it for a minor virus. By the time they get to the doctor's, it would be too late.

Lisa's lips trembled as Jennie immediately sat up, but her movements were too fast and for a moment, she felt faint. She could not stop Lisa in time.

It was just a simple blood test but Lisa had gotten so anxious. Jennie did not dare let him know about her light-headedness, in case Lisa got more flustered.

She slowly calmed herself down before walking over to hold Lisa on his arm. "Lisa, stay calm."

The doctor heaved a sigh of relief and took one step backward. Nevertheless, she still did not feel safe, so she backed up two more steps before saying, "Mr. Manoban, please calm down. Even children suffering from fever and flu will need to take a blood test when they visit the pediatrician. I didn't do a CT scan or a gastroscope scan for Mrs. Manoban so it means that it's nothing serious. Please bring Mrs. Manoban over for the blood test so we can have an early diagnose. Only then can we decide the next step. Is that okay?"

The last sentence prompted Lisa to quickly bring Jennie for the blood test.

While they walked over, Lisa kept mumbling anxiously. Jennie had no choice but to hold Lisa's arm tightly. She said quietly, "Lisa, stop it. If something really was wrong with me, I'd need to depend on you. If you're acting so tense, it's going to make me feel scared."

Lisa's eyes widened as he realized what she meant. He quickly relaxed his expression and immediately realized that he was not acting appropriately.

He held on tightly to Jennie's shoulders. "Everything is going to be fine. Don't worry, the doctor said you were going to be okay too."

Jennie smiled and nodded. She was actually not too worried, but when Lisa started acting so agitated, it made her anxious as well. Now that he had forced himself to calm down in order to comfort her, it made her feel a little sad.

Jennie went to get her blood tested and got the results not long after.

There were rows of medical jargon and numbers on it. Jennie and Lisa may both have been literate, but when the words were put together in this random sequence, neither of them could understand it.

They went back to the clinic and Lisa handed the results over to the doctor. He did not want to act anxious in front of Jennie again in case she got worried, so his eyes stayed glued on the doctor.

As Jennie held on to Lisa's hands, she realized his hands were now balled up tightly into fists. Jennie could not slip her hands in, nor could she pry his fingers open. Lisa finally realized what Jennie was doing and relaxed his grip so that Jennie could slip her hands into his.
