It had been a week since the team had broken Kara's clone out of the military base in Kasnia. Her training was progressing well and she would be able to go out on her own in the near future. The clone had come up with her own name after looking at names in a book and she had come up with the name Melissa. Tonight the team was going to work on Melissa's ability to associate with the public, so they were going to go to the alien bar and just hang out for a while.

Kara gave Melissa an image inducer so that they wouldn't look the same since everyone at the bar knew her and knew that she didn't have a twin. Melissa didn't like this idea at first but once they explained everything to her she started to understand, so she went along with the plan.

Once they got to the bar, Kara and Melissa saw that Oliver, Thea, Lena, and James were waiting for them. "About time you two showed up. I think we were going to drink this place dry while we were waiting for you." Thea said.

"Sorry, I had to convince Melissa to wear the image inducer since people know that I don't have a twin." Kara said.

"That makes sense. So, what are we going to do here tonight? A pool table is open over there." James said.

"Yeah, let's play some pool. That is a good way to make some new friends because new people always want to play at some point." Oliver said.

After a while of playing pool, Oliver turned to Melissa and asked, "So, how are you liking your night out?"

"This is fun. I just wish that those people that were keeping locked up would have done this for me. I now know what it is like to have freedom and I really enjoy it." Melissa said.

"I am glad to hear that. So, how are things going with your training?" Oliver asked.

"Everything is going well. I am picking up on everything quickly. Hopefully I will be able to get out on my own soon. Right now, Kara won't let me out in the field because I still have things to learn." Melissa said.

"Don't worry about that. When Kara is done with you, you will be able to do everything that she does and you will be able to take care of yourself as well." Oliver said.

"Thanks. I will try to keep that in mind. So, what else is there to do here tonight?" Melissa asked.

"I think it is karaoke night. Kara always enjoys that." Oliver said with a smile.

"What is karaoke?" Melissa asked.

"It is where people get up in front of the crowd and sing. Some people are really good, like Kara, and others are really bad and they make fools of themselves." Oliver said.

"Sounds like fun. I might have to get up there as well. I guess we will see." Melissa said as they got back to playing pool.

. . .

Later that night the karaoke started up and just like Oliver said, Kara was one of the first ones up on the stage. Melissa was paying close attention to what was going on and decided that she wanted to get in on the fun, so she put her name on the list and picked one of the songs that she had heard while being here with Kara.

Melissa had done well for her first time doing karaoke. She was a little off at some points, but that was to be expected when you were not used to the song and were singing for the first time.

"That was fun. I will have to do that again sometime." Melissa said.

"Yeah, it looked like you were having a lot of fun up there. I never get up there because I don't have a good voice and I don't like to make a fool of myself." Lena said.

"You should try it. It is a lot of fun." Melissa said as she took the pool stick from Kara so that she could take her next shot since they had just started a new game once her song was over.

"No, I don't think so. Anyways, is there anything else we should do for Melissa's first night out on the town?" Lena asked.

"I think we are doing fine for tonight. I think that maybe later in the week we could take her to a sports game and see what she thinks about that." Oliver said.

"I have been watching these sports on the television and I really like football. I like how it is rough." Melissa said.

"Yeah, it is rough sometimes. It is a fun game to watch. You should also look at hockey. That can be rough at times as well." Oliver said.

"I will have to look into that. Maybe we can have a get together and we can all watch a game on the television as well." Melissa said.

"That sounds like a plan. So, it looks like you have gotten the art of socializing down. What do you want to do now?" Thea asked Melissa.

"Kara is always talking about ice cream. I think I would like to try some of that." Melissa said.

"Everyone loves ice cream. I think we can arrange to stop by an ice cream shop on the way home." Kara said and everyone else nodded in agreement.

"So, what do you say we head on to the ice cream shop and then we can hang out a bit more at the shop before heading home for the night?" Oliver asked.

"Sounds good to me. I think we have played pool enough for the night." Lena said.

Once they arrived at the ice cream shop everyone got their favorite flavor and Melissa had become a lover of chocolate so she got chocolate ice cream and she loved it. "This is one of the best things that I have ever tasted. How do you not get fat off of this stuff?" Melissa asked.

"Us humans can't eat it as much as you and Kara can. That is how we don't gain weight." Thea said.

"Oh, I guess that makes sense. So, what are we going to do now?" Melissa asked.

"We can just stay here and hang out for a while, then we will go home." Kara said and Melissa nodded as the group had fun for about another thirty minutes before they decided that they had taught Melissa enough for the night.
