A New Life on a New Earth

Chapter 37

While Melissa was trying to find a city to go to that would need her protection, Oliver had an idea. He knew that he didn't do this often enough when he was on Earth one so he thought that he would try to do a better job of doing this now. He would have to mention it to Kara and make sure that she was ok with it though.

"Hey, you look like you have something on your mind. What's up?" Kara asked.

"I was thinking that it has been a while since I have been on a vacation and I was thinking that it probably had been for you as well. What do you think about going off somewhere for a couple of days, or possibly even a week?" Oliver asked.

"I think that is a good idea. I will need to make sure that the team is ok with it though." Kara said.

"Of course, although I think there are enough superpowered people on the team that they will barely miss you. It will also give Melissa a chance to see what it is like to be you. She won't have to wear the image inducer while we're gone." Oliver said.

"You make a good point. Let's do this. I need a bit of a break anyways." Kara said as she and Oliver made their way to the bunker to tell the team that they would be going on a vacation.

When everyone was at the bunker, Kara called everyone together. "Hey guys, bring it in."

"What's up?" Thea asked.

"Oliver and I have decided that we are going to go on a vacation if all of you think that you can take care of the city while we are gone." Kara said.

"Go. Both of you deserve a break. We can take care of everything here." Alex said and the rest of the team nodded in agreement.

"Melissa, I am going to give you my suit. You can go out as yourself while we are gone." Kara said.

"Thanks Kara. I won't let you down." Melissa said.

"I know you won't. Now I think it is time for Oliver and I to leave so that we can decide where we want to go." Kara said, but before she could leave Lena got her attention.

"Kara, I have a beach house on the east coast. Do you think you might want to go there. It will be free of charge and I know that no one is there right now." Lena said.

"That would be great Lena. Thank you." Kara said as she hugged her friend and got the keys to the beach house from here. "Now we just need to go and pack."

Once Oliver and Kara were done packing, Kara looked at Oliver and asked, "Do you want to get a plane ticket or do you want me to fly us there?"

"I don't mind you flying us there. We will get there faster that way anyways." Oliver said.

"Good. I was hoping that you were going to say that. I will take you there and then I will come back for the luggage." Kara said as she picked Oliver up and flew him to the beach house.

After Kara left Oliver, she flew back home to get the luggage. When she returned she put the luggage in their room. They both start to take a look around to see what the house had that they could use while they were there.

"Ok, Lena has everything here. She has a hot tub, a theater room, and even a pool table, and ping pong table. This place is great." Kara said.

"This looks like one of the houses that my family owned on the beach when I was younger. Of course, we no longer own it." Oliver said.

"That was taken when all of your money was taken as well?" Kara asked having heard about what Isabel Rochev had done and knowing how the Queen's lost their money.

"Yeah, we pretty much lost everything. That is why I had to run for Mayor. I needed to make money somehow." Oliver said.

"That makes sense. So, what do you want to do first?" Kara asked.

"I think we should just relax for now. Maybe we can take a walk later on before dark. Then we can use that hot tub that seems to be calling your name from the way you keep on looking at it." Oliver said with a smile.

"To tell you the truth. I was just thinking about what we could do in it." Kara said turning red because she could not believe she said that.

Oliver couldn't help but laugh at the look on Kara's face. "It's ok babe. We have plenty of time here. We can do whatever you want."

Kara sighed in relief and then went to the theater room and sat down and started a movie that she had been wanting to see for a while anyways. Oliver joined her. This caused them both to relax and enjoy themselves. Once the movie was over, they decided to go for that walk that Oliver had mentioned earlier.

"This is a nice beach. The only thing missing is a private beach. That would be fun." Kara said and Oliver nodded in agreement because he knew where her mind was at that moment.

"Has it been that long since we had sex, because your mind seems to be going there a lot today?" Oliver asked.

"No, I think we had sex last week. Although that is a long time for most couples I would guess." Kara said.

"Yeah. Most people don't have the busy lives that we do though." Oliver said.

"No they don't. I guess we will be making up for that while we are here though." Kara said looking at Oliver who was smiling since he was agreeing with her.

"That we will. So, what do you want to do now?" Oliver asked.

"Well, you know me. I always need food. We should go and see what kind of places they have here for take-out. We can go get groceries tomorrow." Kara said.

"Sounds good to me. You go in and find a place that you like and then I will decide what I want. I will eat most anything." Oliver said and Kara nodded as she walked into the house and figured out what they were having for dinner.

The rest of the night went by quickly. They just had a good time and also relaxed and enjoyed not having to be heroes for the week.
