A New Life on a New Earth

Chapter 31

The team had been working on the Children of Liberty for the past month and they were finally finding out that they were making progress with stopping most of them. Now there were very few of them left and they were actually seeing Lockwood coming out and working with his people more often, he had just been able to stay away from the heroes as of now, but they knew he couldn't stay away from them forever.

"I have a good feeling about tonight. We might finally be able to find out who is actually behind all of this. Lockwood doesn't have the money to fund something like this." Kara said.

"Who would have the money to fund something like this? I am new to the city, so who would have the money for this?" Oliver asked.

"There are only a few people that I know of. Morgan Edge, Maxwell Lord, and the Luthors. It could be Lillian. I know it is not Lena and I have a hard time thinking that it could be Lex being that he is in prison." Kara said.

"Wouldn't be the first time someone in prison was running things." Thea said.

"No it wouldn't. Do you think he could pull it off?" Sara asked Lena and she nodded her head knowing that Lex could most definitely pull it off.

"Well, I guess that we will find out when we take down Lockwood. We will get him soon enough and then we will end this cult for good." Oliver said.

Everyone nodded and then went out on their patrol for the night.

While they were out, Supergirl ran into some Children of Liberty who had gotten wise and were carrying Kryptonite. She called the others and they all took down the group quickly. Green Arrow went up to one of the men and asked, "Where can we find Lockwood?"

"I am not going to tell you anything. You will never break me." the man said.

Green Arrow looked at Supergirl and she nodded at him, giving him permission to use whatever method he had to to get the information that they needed.

"Don't be so sure of that." Green Arrow said as he pulled out a syringe with the reworked red death that Lena and Winn had been working on for him.

Green Arrow injected the man and he started to get uncomfortable. Green Arrow then asked again, "Where can I find Lockwood? I can make this more uncomfortable for you then it already is."

"I am not answering your questions. You can do what you want to me. It won't change anything." the man said.

"Don't bet on it. I will get what I want." Green Arrow said.

He bent down and punched the man in the face. He then grabbed the guys nose which made the pain double being that the nose was hurting already. He then punched the guy in the ribs multiple times and broke a few of them, then he pushed on them to cause him pain.

"Want to rethink what you said now?" Green Arrow asked.

"Fine! You win. I will give you what you want. He is in the warehouse down by the bay. The one on Jefferson and Bank street." the man said.

"Thanks for your help." Green Arrow said as he punched the man and knocked him out.

"How long will it be before that stuff wears off?" Guardian asked.

"It only lasts for an hour. That's why I knocked him out. I was being as merciful as possible. There is no cure. It just needs to work it's way out of his system." Green Arrow said.

Everyone then got ready to go to the warehouse and hopefully end this for good.

The team arrived at the warehouse and split up so that they were covering all of the exits and also had people on the roof in case someone shows up to try and help. Artemis and Arsenal were on the roof keeping a lookout for any help that was coming while Green Arrow, White Canary, Guardian, and Black Canary were going in the front door, Supergirl, Powergirl, Red Arrow, Sentinel, and Martian Manhunterl were going in the back door.

They breached the building and took all of the Children of Liberty out until it was just Lockwood left. "Ben Lockwood, you have failed this city." Green Arrow said.

"No, I think you and all of your friends are the ones who failed this city. You work with Aliens instead of your own people and then you make it look like you are better than the rest of us because you stop crime. Well, I know the truth. Since Supergirl became active, this city has had an attack every year since then. Do you really think that is a coincidence?" Lockwood asked.

"It doesn't matter. It doesn't give you the right to attack all of these aliens that are not causing any problems. Some of them are here living peacefully and don't want any problems and yet you are causing them." Supergirl said.

"There is no such thing as peaceful aliens. They will all cause problems in the end." Lockwood said.

"It is people that think like you that are really the problem. If you cause hate of course people are going to fight back." Artemis said.

"Well, you will see it my way one of these days, and on that day I will say that I told you so." Lockwood said.

"As much as I would like to continue this conversation, we need to know who is really in charge of all of this." Green Arrow said.

"I am." Lockwood said.

"You don't have the funds to run something like this. Who approached you about starting the Children of Liberty?" Green Arrow asked.

"I won't tell you anything." Lockwood said.

"I have already don't enough that I didn't want to do today. Manhunter can you get the answers that we need?" Green Arrow asked and Manhunter nodded.

Manhunter walked up to Lockwood and put his hand to Lockwoods temple and started to read his mind. "Looks like Otis Graves approached him, which means that this was Lex's idea." Manhunter said.

"Of course this was Lex. Why am I not surprised?" Supergirl said.

"Well, let's get back to the Bunker. We can settle that tomorrow. We have done enough for tonight. We did just finish off the Children of Liberty, which I say is a night well spent." Sentinel said and the other heroes nodded and left after they tied up all of the Children of Liberty for the police to take care of.
