A New Life on a New Earth

Chapter 54

The next day they had figured out that Malcolm wasn't the Dark Archer because there was an attack somewhere else the night before and Malcolm was there the whole time. That still left Tommy, but they weren't sure if it was him either. It was hard to know what he had been up to when he had dropped Laurel off at the hotel she was staying at. Being that they didn't have to follow Malcolm anymore they focused all of their attention on Tommy for now. That night Tommy and Laurel were together again since it was Oliver and Laurel's welcome back party, and Kara's welcome to the city party.

"So, what did you do after you dropped me off last night?" Laurel asked Tommy.

"Oh, nothing much. Just headed to my apartment and watched the news to see how people were reacting to you and Ollie being back." Tommy said.

"Well, that could be both good and bad." Laurel said.

"It was on Oliver's part. The people still think he is like he used to be. I guess being on an island for as long as he was, he would be a different person now." Tommy said.

"You have no idea. I already see the change in him. I never thought he would turn into the man that he is now." Laurel said.

"You don't still have feelings for him do you?" Tommy asked.

"No, I don't. He is head over heels in love with Kara from the way it looks. I moved on a while ago, being that he was gone for so long. I couldn't keep living my life hoping that he would come back one day." Laurel said as she smiled at her friend.

"Well, that is good. So, would you be interested in doing something tomorrow night?" Tommy asked.

"We will see how tonight goes." Laurel said and Tommy nodded.

"Looks like things are going well for Laurel. She has Tommy wrapped around her finger." Kara said.

"Tommy always did have a thing for Laurel. Looks like that is the same on this earth as well. I just hope that he isn't the Dark Archer." Oliver said.

"Me too, but if he is, we will deal with that when the time comes. Let's get out of here. I think we have been here long enough." Kara said and Oliver nodded as they walked over to Tommy and Laurel and told them that they were headed home for the night.

Once they left the building, they changed into their suits and Oliver got on his motorcycle that he borrowed from the mansion and Kara went to the top of the building to get a better view. It didn't take Tommy and Laurel long to leave after Oliver and Kara did. They got in a limo and Kara followed them from the air while Oliver followed from the road. Once Tommy dropped Laurel off at her hotel again, he got back in the limo and left.

Kara kept following the car, while Oliver waited for Laurel to come down the fire escape in her suit and they took off using Kara's directions to know where Tommy was going. It didn't look good when Kara told them that Tommy had gone to a warehouse down in the Glades.

Once all three heroes were at the location, they entered the building and saw what was going on. Oliver looked over to see a machine that looked a lot like the earthquake device from his earth, but it was different in the fact that it was using the dwarf star particles as an explosive. Oliver wasn't going to let the undertaking happen again, so he looked at his teammates and nodded.

The three heroes went on the attack and because of this it didn't take them long to take Tommy down, because Oliver was trained by the League of Assassins and Laurel had a lot of training as well. The thing that made it so easy for them though was the fact that Kara had her speed which Tommy had no chance at matching.

"Why did you stop me? I am trying to be a hero just like you guys are." Tommy said, dressed in his Dark Archer suit.

"Killing thousands of people is not being a hero. Being a hero is about stopping who is responsible for the evil that is happening in the world, not killing everyone in a certain area for something that one person did." Green Arrow said.

"The people in the Glades are all druggies and they caused my sister to join in with them. If they weren't all drug users, there wouldn't be enough money for the people to still make the drugs." Tommy said, and that was when he realized who Tommy was doing this for.

He could understand where Tommy was coming from with his comments, but it still didn't make what he was doing right. While Oliver was talking to Tommy, the women went over and disarmed the bomb and got the particles that they needed and then went over to Oliver's side letting them know that they had what they needed.

"Don't try anything like this again." Green Arrow said to his friend as he cut him loose and the three heroes were gone before he could even get to his feet.

Oliver, Kara, and Laurel were all at the mansion getting everything ready for them to leave. They heard the door open and they saw Tommy walk through them as they were walking down the stairs.

"Are you guys going somewhere?" Tommy asked.

"Yeah. Kara and I got our own apartment, so we are moving in there." Oliver said.

"Sounds good. Let me know the address and I will stop by sometime." Tommy said and Oliver nodded as he gave his friend the fake information.

"What are you doing here, Laurel?" Tommy asked.

"I just wanted to help them move into their place, so here I am." Laurel said with a smile.

"Sounds good. I will see you guys later. I am going to talk to dad and Moira." Tommy said as he walked into the other room and the heroes turned to leave the house.

As they opened the door, there was a scream which caused them to turn around and see a red cloud of some sort coming toward them. It looked like the cloud was wiping out everything in its path, and it was coming from the direction that Tommy had just gone. They didn't have time to go and look for their friend, so Kara pulled out the extrapulator and opened a breach back to Earth 38. When they were back on their earth they all looked at each other in disbelief.

"What the hell was that?" Laurel asked and on cue and man's voice answered them.

"I see you have seen what it will look like when the Crisis comes. Now you know what you are up against." Novu said.

"What are we supposed to do with something like that?" Oliver asked.

"You will know when it is time. I see you completed your mission. I will be back soon to let you know what you need to do next." Novu said and then he disappeared.

"Well, that was terrifying." Kara said.

"Yeah. Tell me about it." Oliver said as the heroes just sat there and thought about what they had just seen.
