Chapter 6

The next morning, Veronica was the first to rise, as she always was despite how long she stayed awake. As was a member of the Flame crew, Dream. Dream sat outside his trailer with a cup of coffee in hand, looking up at the sky. Veronica left her trailer and spotted him and walked over to him.

"Hey!" Veronica greeted with a gentle smile.

"Veronica! Good to see you, you disappeared after yesterday's race." Dream said, patting the chair next to him.

Veronica sat next to him, pouring herself some coffee, "Yeah, Alec and I went for a drive after the race."

"You alright? I saw you crash a couple times and how you looked before you and Alec left. You looked like you were going to pass out then and there." Dream had sat properly, his full attention on the girl he was conversing with.

"I'm fine, a couple bruises here and there. The look afterwards.. Is something that Alec and I haven't talked to anyone about. Other than Fundy and Eret obviously." Veronica shrugged, taking a long sip from her coffee.

"Well, if you ever want to talk about it. Let me know. We can drive somewhere else and talk about it so no one gets nosey." Dream said with a soft smile that made his nose crinkle up a bit.

"I would like that sometime." Veronica returned the smile, "You think you guys made it to the Finals?"

"I definitely think that we did. As well as you and Blade." Dream responded, nodding.

"I think 79 is going to as well. One or both of them." Veronica sighed, she was clearly uncomfortable just by mentioning them.

"They clearly did some bad stuff if you look like you might faint just talking about them." Dream said, clearly more awake and concerned.

"Very bad. So bad they were put in jail." Veronica mumbled, sipping the coffee in her hands.

Dream seemed stunned for a moment, he opened his mouth for a moment, closing it after as he processed the words.

"Wow... that.. Wow. Well I hope you beat him." Dream told her, sitting up and facing her.

"I do as well, it would make my dad proud." Veronica smiled sadly, looking at Dream.

Dream sighed quietly, pulling her into a hug. Veronica set her coffee down, wrapping her arms around the blonde boy.

"Thank you for being here, despite not knowing me long." Veronica said quietly.

"Of course, I think we will be good friends. Even if Sapnap gets mad about it." Dream chuckled a bit, earning a soft laugh from the girl.

They pulled away from the hug, smiling at each other and drinking their coffee in a comfortable silence as they just enjoyed each other's company. They did this for about an hour, drinking coffee, occasionally breaking the silence to say something that made the other laugh, just enjoying it. Around 7:30, Sapnap and Karl walked out of the trailer, immediately seeing the two sitting together not too far from them. Sapnap grit his teeth upon seeing the girl talking to his best friend and sitting in his chair.

"Sap, calm down. She isn't doing anything wrong." Karl spoke softly to the man.

"Whatever." Sapnap muttered in annoyance, walking over to the two with Karl following behind.

"Unpopular opinion, pineapples belong on pizza." Dream spoke, a playful grin on his face as he spoke to the girl, unaware of Sapnap or Karl.

"Well, I would have to agree with your unpopular opinion. Have you ever had taco pizza? It's a thing." Veronica chuckled, pointing at Dream as she spoke.
